CLOSED: Seeds Need Homes!

Guilford, CT(Zone 7a)

Once again, I have scores of seeds from my garden that need to find homes. Most are easy & reliable growers. I am looking for seeds of any kind, or postage. I think 2-4 stamps would be sufficient, depending on what you would like me to send. Mostly I am looking to get these seeds to someone who will appreciate them - I can include growing instructions if necessary too...
I have the following:

Rose of Sharon - hardy, picture below
Balsamina Impatiens - purple
Canna - tall red
Columbine - purple
Datura - "Tatula", unnamed lavender
Dragon Claw Millet
Echinops Ritro - Globe Thistle
Tri-Color Four O'Clocks
Hosta - "Frances Williams", & unknown medium green ridged bowl leaf
Liatris - purple
Morning Glory - purple mix
Ornamental Corn - "Painted Mountain"
Prairie Mallow - pink
Sweet Pea - perennial pink

Hi JRush!
I'd like these, please:

I can't remember right off the top of my head what all I have to trade, but I know I have some Morning Glory seeds, some are mixed, and some are Heavenly Blue. I'm just too tired to think of anything else at this point. I can look further if you'd like, or send postage or the Morning Glory seeds to you in a SASBE.

Hi JRUSH, would like some of your Millet seed please if you have some left, I have a trade list let me know if there is anything you would like?

Guilford, CT(Zone 7a)

I have everyone set so far - & I still have plenty more to share!
If I do indeed mail out too many seeds to anyone, please share them with other gardeners, neighbors, friends - whoever may enjoy them. I like to know they will be planted - somewhere!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Julie they won't go to waste here. I always plant a huge wildflower garden for the butterflies and hummers. Even Orioles will come to some that produce heavy nectar

Polkton, NC(Zone 7b)

JRush, I would like to have any seeds you are willing to share with me. I only have red cypress vine and moon vine seeds to trade, or I can send postage, just let me know. I promise they will have a good home here!! Thanks

Hello there JRush !!!
This is my very first reply to a post. I am so glad to have found this site!

I would really, really appreciate any seeds, though I do have morning glories already. I don't have much to share yet. I would be more than happy to post my seeds for you when they are set to ship. In the mean time maybe SASBE would be ok?

Wesley Chapel, FL(Zone 9a)

Hi Julie,

Do you have a name on that Canna? I haven't started any from seed, but I think it might be fun to.

As I remember, I promised you a Giant Upright EE. Did you want to wait for warmer weather? They've been growing in my greenhouse - not a lot, they're still small, but healthy.

I can send one whenever you're ready - let me know, OK?

How is the Yellow Mandevila that I sent you doing? I still have one here, but it died way back- I'm not sure why. It's not looking so happy - maybe sensitive to temps - it's been cold here.

I propagated more of the Sweet Potato Vines. I have some of the Tri-colored now. So far, they haven't flowered - I don't know if they do or not. I'll send one if you'd like one.

Steve

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Oh how did I miss this? I would love these:
Rose of Sharon
Liatris
4 o'clocks
Do you think columbine would bloom here in our winters? It is 50's at night.
I can send SASBE or trade. I can send you a list of my seeds if you like.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Susie it might grow in winter as mild as yours are but won't in summer. Is way to hot/humid. They die here as soon as the humidity kicks in

JRush
Do you still have any Tri-Color Four O'Clocks left for SASBE? I would love to have some. Thank you very much.
Hugs&blessings ... elaine

Hi Steve - the Mandevilla is thriving, as much as it can with our abreviated days here! Both varieties of Sweet Potato are doing well, except for some spider mites. What is a Winter indoor without at least ONE infestation of critters? The purple Sweet Potato has been in bloom almost continuously - I am surprised! I received the tall red Cannas in a trade, so they are unknown. I germinated the Limbata Cannas by scraping the seeds (no easy feat) & every single one sprouted. It was also in January - so I think they are truly easy to grow. Let me know if I can send some of the seeds your way...

Guilford, CT(Zone 7a)

Calalily - I can send whatever seeds you would like - send me an email! Let me know on the Columbine too...
Elaine - plenty of the Four O'Clocks left - send me youe address & I will get them out to you.

Thank you so much. I will send you my SASBE. ... elaine

Guilford, CT(Zone 7a)

I still have so much more - if anyone is interested!

Brigham City, UT(Zone 5b)

JRush, I just joined Daves garden a few weeks ago and am having a blast. I get home from > 12 hour days at work and get to the computer to see what is hapening. I am learning to navigate this forum.
I would like any of the seeds that you want to give me. Are Impatients hard to germinate? I love the Rose of Sharon. I would like to try the Four O'Clocks, Columbine, Hosta, and Dantura. I am so excited to get out in the garden. I show pictures to my co-workers, they can't believe the flowers. I love it, I love it, I love it.
I can send Loves Lies Bleeding, this is one of my favorite annuals. I can send a SASE and extra stamps for other mailings if you would like. Thanks, Marie

Would you be interested in other daturas for trade or just a SASBE?

Greenville, IN(Zone 6a)

Hi Julie,
I would be interested in the Ornamental Corn - "Painted Mountain", if you haven't sent mine out yet, or I could send a sase? I didn't see this on your list before. If this is juat regular corn nevermind, I've been trying to look it up in the plantfiles and can't find it.

Marie - you have mail...
Texas Lou - I am in the extras - or I can mail first, whatever you prefer.
Kathyvm -you can never have too many Daturas! Sending you mail...
LeBug - adding Ornamental Corn to your envelope... these are colored corn - like ornage, blue, gray, yellow, white - the basic Indian corn ears. I use them in decorative Autumn arrangements, then I give the seed to the birds & squirrels when I am done with them. The squirrels give them a "10".

Hooks, TX

Julie,
I prepared the sasbe today with 4- 37 cent stamps and will mail tomorrow. Let me know if I owe you more.
thanks,
Louise
