I am a newbie to seed saving and have a Red Bud Tree in my yard with seed pods. Is there any advice on when and how to collect these pods?

Hi Cora,
I was wondering the same thing. Mine has pods on it too first time I ever noticed it... Maybe somebody will know when they are ready .

Hi,

Your seed pods will not be ready until they dry on the limbs...as the same as with flower seeds...mine usually fall in sept-oct, I'm zone 8...

Doncha love it when this plant blooms? I bought mine planted in a coffee can at a yard sale about 10+ years ago & now it's my favorite flowering tree.
