I enjoy playing with my computer extras, and I'm finding out how it goes by trial and error, but I can't find the answer to this. I'm trying to make a gif of some seed envelopes. They're white with colours on. I want a transparent background so I just get the shape of the envelopes. When I put it on a white background, it's perfect. When I put it on a coloured background, the colour goes where the white was and they're yucky. Can anyone help?

It's nice to know that other people don't know either! I've solved the problem. I cut out a piece of background, made it into a new photo, and cut and pasted the envelopes on to that. Now it doesn't have a transparent background, but it matches so the effect is the same.
