Help!! What should I do with my bulbs???
I had images in my mind of the pictures of the flowers blooming from those leftover
bulbs as I opened this thread. Maybe next time, huh?

Hey! My Alliums are coming up in this big round terra cotta pot. They looked so good, I decided to leave them in the pot till after they bloom! Then I can move them anywhere they look really good- and see before I plant.
I love a happy ending.
This thread has given me an idea! I sometimes have misc. tulips that are unidentified when I dig them up to move them. It is SO hard to mark what they are and then keep them separated so they can be planted where I really want them... Here's my idea: I take these bulbs and plant them in containers (as for the ones that don't make it into the ground in time) put in garage for winter, then when they start to bloom in the spring, I can transplant them by color to where they belong. Because they will be planted shallowly in friable soil, they should be easy to move. What do you think of my plan? I have tried to move them when they are in bloom, but often they break off because i don't dig down far enough.

Brilliant Sharon! Forcing does deplete energy so do this only when you need to especially with tulips.
I've forced hyacinth many years (in water) and planted them out after they finished. They always have a
straggly year the next year and then rebound. So it does definitely work for hyacinth.

Miraculous! My poor little bulbs that got planted so late and so poorly are up and blooming now! The scilla and hyacinths are in flower, and most of the rest are poking their heads up. I had all but given up on them, since all of the more established bulbs on the property are weeks ahead of them. I don't think the foliage will have time to weather before I have to move. They have been such troupers -- I really hate to leave them behind!
