What does your house look like at Christmas?
Lookin' good! You have a very nice collection of angels.
Gorgeous fancy! Ü Gotta get my act together soon.
I love all your angels, especially the stained glass ones.I am still getting organized, and just started putting out some stuff. You have inspired me. I will try and post some pics when I get a bit more up.
Cindy
Thanks for the compliments!
Actually that is not all the angels!
Whats happening at your houses this Christmas?
You are way ahead of me fancyvan. Looking at yours is starting to put me in the mood. All very pretty, I particularly like your sewing machine. Angels are one of my favourite collections too.
Like all your angels. Very pretty.
My Christmas decorations consist of a quilted table decoration and something on the door. Thats it. Simply because I'll not be here for Christmas, plus all my kids have all my decorations now. Had to divide them very carefully because they all wantd the same things from our trees.

Love that tree with all the gold decorations - and the kitty decorations are pretty nice too!
Yes terday on a spur of the moment visit to a garden centre I havent visited before - now full of Xmas decorations - I couldnt resist buying another angel. This one lights up and the colors change! I cant get good pics of all the colors but here is the angel .
What a beautiful angel - a nice addition to your collection.
Spectacular find fancyvan. A real treasure for years to come.
Ginny, your home is very beautifully decorated. I love the gold theme, too.
Still no start on Christmas here. Was thinking maybe give it a pass this year, but then I'm sure I would regret it. Guess I better go start hauling those boxes down.
Lovely decorations Ladies! Ü Ginny I *want* the elf on your coffee table (the Santa behind is pretty nice too :). Fancy I also eyed that angel.....but having work done on the house (and a DD at college) took care of any spare cash we had this year.
echoes I think I'd better do the same (DD didn't want us to do much without her being here).
Ü Thanks Ginny.......I'm pretty sure I can manage that! Ü
Nice pics everyone. Kittys in the tree seem to be the thing this year. Seems to me there were a few other people mentioneing their cats in the tree. LOL
Well, we've had our outside lights on for awhile. Got the polar bear set up last night. And dragged all the Christmas decorations out of the basement last night. They are still sitting in the hall as no time today to do anything with them.
Hopefully tomorrow.
Ann
nice to see your pics. with me its either feast or famine and this year it's famine, not a thing in the house inside or out. think i got decorated out doing three dining rooms at work this year - plus the pond and plants have usurped the tree spot in the foyer so i will get my christmas cheer from looking at your places. happy christmas to everyone.
We are getting there slowly. Got the tree set up yesterday and the lights on my the end of the day. Other decorations are mostly out. Am attaching a composite - a santa which I purchased half-price on boxing day one year and a polar bear - tree topping angel which friends gave us. (We have a lovely tree angel; so it just gets set out.)
Working more or less clockwise around the composite
- a quilted tree which I made in the mid-70's.
- a ceramic tree which my mother had. Now I have a new table which displays it nicely.
- our tree before lights and decorations. About 9 1/2 ft tall.
- three Magi which I made for christmas 1971 out of paper maché and stiffened fabric
- an angel made - 1972 or 1973. Cardboard, paper maché, twine and paint. Flies high on one wall.
- a wooden choir made in Seiffen - former East Germany - a treasure from a Christmas spent in Germany in 1976
- a still incomplete Hummel nativity. Someday maybe I'll get the missing pieces
- a Santa riding a polar bear. My husband has spent his career studying ice and that had included trips into the Arctic. Many polar bear art pieces around our house.
Had to play a concert today and was at a friend's for dinner this evening. Might get the tree decorated tomorrow if we're lucky.
Ann
Very nice - Ann I have those same little choir boys - have a collection of small wooden figures from Germany, Spain etc. Have not had enough space to put them out for years now!
I've enjoyed getting a glimpse of all your festive decorations. Wonderful!
Here's my collage. After years of having a real tree when the kids were small, the tree is artificial now (so I can haul it out when I get the notion!) and has a musical theme. The crystal angel with the emerald birthstone is in memory of my best friend who died of breast cancer a few years ago. The santa carvings are done by my wonderful FIL.
Sandy
Sandy,
That is gorgeous!
Jody
What a wonderful festive look your house has Sandy. :) Your FIL is very talented and the angel is a lovely remembrance.
Lovely Sandy
Finally, here's the tree.
It's not themed. We try to add one really nice quality ornament each year (I like crystal ones) and we have a lot of polar bears. A number were my parents' (at least those that survived the year the tree fell over, LOL), some we bought in 1976 when we were in Germany, and there are ones we made when we were first married and didn't have any money.
Looking at this pic, the tree looks rather bare, but the branches are really dense and there are a lot of ornaments on it.
I'm afraid I didn't get the top of the angel, but she's really pretty.
