Anyone know much about this tree or have one? I was reading a tree book, and it seemed like a great tree, but I was hoping someone might have some pictures or advice about it. I can't find it sold anywhere, either...
Thanks!

Sorry, that's not right, sadly I don't know correct way to cut & paste links. However, their cooperative extension service is in the process of developing and releasing this tree in the nursery trade.

I've also looked at this small tree. It's got good hardiness to Zone 4, foliage is nice and blooms look good. There's a comment in Dirrs Hardy Trees & Shrubs. Schumacher Seed has it: http://www.treeshrubseeds.com/catalog.asp?genus=m
I also noticed a local nursery with the plants: http://www.pirocheplants.com/ornamentalshadetrees.htm
Give it a try, Dirr says, "...unknown except in the gardens of a fortunate few."
There's pics and a description with Oregon State University: http://oregonstate.edu/dept/ldplants/2plants.htm#Maac
Silvery spring foliage, nice summer flowers, great bark, artistic branching, modest size, and very site-adaptable. I've seen a few here in the Midwest, and never a bad one. My own here are really too young to tell you much from first-hand cultivation.

Thanks for the info. Guy S, how slow growing are they?
Pretty slow for me, but on a dry site.
