bloom time from sowing till bloom????

Just wondering what you've noticed in your area of growing, for me here, I usually sow seeds directly outdoors late April/early May, and I am getting my blooms around August, so it's taking around 3 months here, what have you noticed in your gardens??

I planted a germinated seed of Blue Silk JMG that had germinated in the capsule on the vine during a rainy period...planted it maybe in late September indoors, and presently have a flower bud on the vine. Outdoors I get the same response from the vines. I have read that at least with JMGs, they are short day plants, and for flowering to occur, they respond to daylength periods that get shorter over time, like what happens after the summer solstice.
