Same here. I couldn't do it either. The best I could do is put it under the house in the crawl space and plunge the pot in the dirt. I think it stays about 50 under there but I'm not really sure. Someday I'll have to get under there and actually see how cold it gets in the winter. It might be a good place to force bulbs - If you could stand being on your hands and knees with spiders and stuff. Uuugh! Sure makes you want a green house and a root celler doesn't it?

I went to my favorite nursery (Countryside in Crystal Lake, IL) and spoke to their horti. guy named Kelly. After discussing it for a while, I decided to bring the tree out of dormancy and plant it and pot it up and put it in a window. Because it was from Florida and our weather is in the teens and going down tonight and the next few days, Kelly thought the plant would be too stressed out and if it did survive the winter it would struggle for quite some time in the next few seasons and would be vulnerable.
Oh forgot to mention I contacted the vendor via DG vendors last night but no reply yet. It really is a shame because I would have given them fantastic reviews for the plant quality, pricing and packing.
