Learned a lot about yosef; I would hope so. Elucidate as you will...!
Please.
Glad you phrased that as ya did.
Wish I had said that several years ago because that's how I felt after 19 days through rehab.
With out much ado,
this old man tonight came in out of a gentle rain from his tractor. Feeling rather bad and wore out.
Proving nothing!
Tha darkness of night was my comfort.
Feeling like a sad sack!
Thanks to you I remember rehab!

Well, it turns out (through hindsight) that I had a ms relapse starting a few days before my fall/hip fracture. The relapse didn't really get going until after the hip surgery. The "relapse" was muscle spasms in that same left leg (broken hip) that made the fracture/surgery recovery seem paltry in comparison.
Richard Pryor, before he died, talked a lot about the pain of ms. I have been diagnosed with ms since 1988 and had no idea what he was talking about b/c I had not experienced any pain with ms. A lot of weird stuff but, NOT pain. Now..., I do have some idea of what he was talking about! The muscle spasms are very much on the wane right now. Whew, don't want any more of that stuff! I am noticing the hip problem now. ;-)
It was my orthepedic surgeon that noted the difference between what I was experincing and what was normal. I figured there was something else going on but, had no idea how to get that accross to others until he and I talked about it. If ever I had an epiphany, that was it!! Its great when you run accross a physician like that! That conversation with him cut through a lot of crap in figuring out what was really going on.
Through this experience I learned that I really am in charge of my healthcare (the CEO, if you will!). The doctors are part of my staff. Its up to me to get them to work together. Me thinks I did a pretty good job. Of course, my "staff" deserves a little of the credit, too. I had a huge staff of outstanding doctors, nurses, and therapists at the rehab center (Reba Mcintire's). Wonderful people!
I also, learned that it is true. That I will never be given more than I can handle!
And, thank you all for your prayers and comments. Quite uplifting.
John ;-)
John, so good to hear that! My mother had polio in 1954. Fifty years later she developed what is now called "post-polio syndrome". Several years ago we insisted that she see a dr in Houston who is an expert on this, and it was so good that the dr told us to watch out for certain things, what was normal and what was not. The problem, just as you were saying, is trying to figure out if a symptom is just part of the status quo, or if it's something that needs to be addressed. Unless you take control, it's quite easy for a doctor to say, "Oh, that's just (fill in the blank: old age/polio/ms/etc)." It isn't that they are being insidious, but that we need to take control of our own health and healthcare, just as you said.
I'm glad to know you have assembled a fine staff. :-)
The best CEO's surround themselves with good people. They know how to find the best people for the job at hand. :-|
I need a CEO!!
Way to go John.....glad to hear you sounding so upbeat.
JOHN!!!!!! Welcome back, missed you much>>>> Glad You're in control, and you are so right, you must be the CEO, no one knows you like yourself!!!!!! I know from experience thru many Doc's and surgeries,
Looking forward to your shenanigans!!!!!!
Annie
