Imway2dumb is not Way2swift!!!

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

Last night Betty, Imway2dumb's wife called me. She said John had slipped and fallen and broken his hip. He is in the hospital about 50 miles away from Gordonville.
They will have an orthapedic specialist look at him today. He was quite a handfull for Betty who weighs about 110 pounds.
I will be checking with her this evening and will let ya'll know how he's doing and exactly where he is.

Oh, no!!! We're praying for John and for Betty. Thanks for letting us know, Sidney.

Gosh, I am so sorry to hear that. Prayers for John and his wife.

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Oh gosh darn it... he didn't need that to happen. That is bad. I'm sorry to hear it and hope he has access to a laptop.. maybe the hosp/rehab server will work better than his has been lately. Of course he won't be in the hospital long - these days they kick you out almost as soon as you leave the operating room.

Keep us posted Sidney, would really appreciate it. TNX ~Blooms

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

I hope John and Betty receive good news about his hip. That has to be a bad fall. My prayers are with them.

Hoping for a speedy recovery for John.

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

Just talked to Betty. John is at the Texhoma Medical Center in Dennison, Texas.
They put some pins in his hip and he is still on high powered meds.
He is doing well as could be expected.

TNX for updsate. Holding good thoughts for rehab to go smoothly. My Dad did well when he had his hip pinned.. ~Blooms

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

Good, I'm praying he will get through this okay.
Sidney

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks for the info Sidney. I hope he has a ffairly smooth recovery. I am sure it's not going to be easy. Texoma Medical Center is where my MIL works. She's a nurse in Surgery Recovery, so I will have to ask her if John would have come through there during the surgery to insert pins in his hip.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I am very sad that this accident happened to John, I I hope that he will recover quickly.
Josephine.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

I am so sorry to hear about John's fall and subsewuent broken hip. I pray that he has the most speedy recovery possible.

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

I will relay all your good wishes to Betty. He was still on morphene drip today. His was a painful break.
Sidney

Redding, CA(Zone 8b)

Oh my, so sorry to hear about John and poor Betty. She is so tiny must of been quite an ordeal to help him. I will have to see if I can go visit them, since Texoma Medical Center is so close to me. Please give him my get well wishes until then.
Dee

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

Sweezel, I'm sure your MIL is most likely dealing with John. Betty doesn't want to tell John he has to go to rehab. He just talks about going home.
If MIL just mentioned DG to him it might get his mind off of getting home toooo quick.

I think a good computer room ought to be the heart of a good rehab too.;>) I seriously doubt if the rehab folks agree. lol

Betty was dreading yesterdays traffic and is concerned she can't make it everyday. She works at the school.

I d-mailed John's room number to Dee.

Many prayers for a total recovery for John.
Sidney

I just found this thread. OMG!!

Please, would you give them my best and let them know they will continue to be my prayers?

Many thanks for letting us and for keeping us to date, Sidney!!

Castro Valley, CA(Zone 9a)

Goodness John, get well in a hurry, can't have you down like this for long!
Take care, Annie

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

Wow, I hate to hear this, just found the thread! Please tell John I'm praying for his speedy recovery. I know he won't like being immobile. That's a good idea, talking to him about DG and gardening. Hmmm... wonder if he would like a gardening magazine, or book?

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

I do feel so helpless to help from here. Ted is going to drop in and Betty is going after work.
She said they were already making him walk in the hallway.
I'm sure they will boot him to re-hab before long.
Sidney

Redding, CA(Zone 8b)

I went and saw John today. They transfered him to the Rehab Center this morning. He said he thought he would be there for 5-10 days. He is now in Room 106 in the Reba McEntire Rehab Center (near the Medical Center)
Told him that we were all thinking of him and wishing him our best for a speedy recovery. He seemed in good spirits and his usual self---Wanted a Bud Light and Cheeseburger for lunch. Over all he seemed to be doing good though I think he was putting on a good show of how he really felt.

Maggie--we must be on the same wave length. I left him the latest copy of Neil Sperry's Magazine, though sure the time will drag for him everyday and could alway use more.
A computer in there would be great for him Sidney. Maybe we should mention it to Reba (LOL)
Betty arrived a bit before I left so I left him in good hands.

I am going out of town in a few days so don't know if I will get to visit again before I leave. Will watch this thread to see his progress while I am away

Dee

Taylor Creek, FL(Zone 10a)

Thanks Dee, I know you really cheered him up. Maybe I can win a laptop for him, they are always trying to spam me one.
I will give him a call.
Sidney

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

Went to visit him today and cheer him up. Worked the opposite He is in good spirits and still loves to talk. fLet him know what was going on with the Dave's bunch until a pretty nurse came and took him away. LOL
Was a lilttle upset when a male nurse came in and asked hime if he had went to the bathroom this morning. He figured it was none of his business. LOL
Did not like the grandma stockings they were making him wear.
Told him I would stop in again before they kicked him out.
