That cooped up feeling already

Cochrane, ON(Zone 2b)

Ah Brenda, you're getting what we had last week. We were lucky & it melted a few days later. Now we have very little snow, mostly just ice from freezing rain. Hope you don't get dumped on again too soon.

Panhandle, FL(Zone 8a)

Morning early birds! Lilypon and all....those are not ugly! They are just not pretty...LOL
echoes, I was born and raised in the deep south but have lived in Germany and Chicago for many years. I do know cold and glad I don't know it now!

White Lake, ON(Zone 4b)

echoes,

I agree with ViolaAnn that you should enter some of your pics in the photo contest, under the Seasons category. I love the arbour one, the wagon one and definitely the one with the pink sky. Outstanding!

What beautiful winter pictures, they were all so serene looking. We had a bit of sun yesterday and it was so pretty here also,no snow though
Cindy

Linda, we don't usually get this much for the first snow. But I do hope it stays. Supposed to warm up next week.

Weeds, the older I get, the faster my feet get cold. I think new boots are on my Christmas list.

Thanks Sandy, that might kick start me in the right direction.

Cindy, thanks for your kind comment. Glad you are getting some sun. Snow would just freak you guys out.

echoes, I moved to Victoria from back east, and the first year it snowed the teeniest tiniest bit, our boss sent us home early (huh?) and when I was driving home, there were all these wrecks along the side of the road, I was wondering what on earth was going on - there was barely enough snow to cover the road in white!!
Coming from southern Ontario, I found this took a bit of getting used to...if we got even a fraction of what you get, we'd be shut down for a month. :))

Hmm, yes, I've heard rumors about the Island mentality. The first storm of the year brings out the worst of drivers everywhere I think. For your location it would always be the first storm.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Was running low in Internet time till I got a new month's allowance this morning; so I was limiting my DG time drastically.

Daves Garden photo contest - accepting new photos till the end of the month.

there definately is an 'island mentality' about having snow and driving in it. I've seen times here that even when there's forcast to be snow, schools have been shut down. If we get as much as 2 cm, the roads are a mess, and there's line ups at the tire shops for folks trying to buy tires because their bald all season just don't do the job. Then there's 2 types of drivers, those that goo out to play in the snow with there cars, and those that stay home out of the way of the crazies and those that don't know how to drive in the snow. I'm in the last bunch. better to be home and out of everyone elses way than try to go out and get creamed by those out there.

Thanks Ann, I knew it was there, but the link makes it real easy.

Linda I can't really comment on how others drive either, because I would park my car in the shed for the winter and not bring it out till the nurseries are well stocked in spring.

Edmonton, AB(Zone 3a)

Well I hate to be a spoil sport but the golf courses reopened this weekend in sunny warm (but windy) Edmonton. I took all the indoor plants outside yesterday for a trim, shower, and general sprucing up. Lets hear it for global warming - goin for zone 5.

Victoria, BC(Zone 8b)

I bet if our fog would lift, it wouldbe a nice day. we've had fog for 3 days, and it's forcast for the rest of the week. I'm glad we aren't flying out this week. it's got 2 weeks to clear.

Your not a spoilsport Lynn. Enjoy it while ye may. Would be like that here today if there was no snow on the ground. I'm just hoping it doesn't ALL melt. I have pots of bulbs burried under some snow.

Where you off to Linda?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

I'm glad you posted pics, Brenda to show our sunny birds what beautiful white flowers we have and they don't! Nah, nah, nanna, nah! I can't believe how many blooms you have on your Thanksgiving Cactus. It's simply gorgeous! So now I know what to look forward to.
:) Donna

Yep, that one was for you, Donna.
