Hi Mike,

Ugh, I am not good at Clemitis, but I love them. I have 2 right now, can't remember the names at this moment. One of them I have had for over 2 years and it's doing just OK. It is a white one, but not Henri. I noticed that it is starting to get some green growth right now. It always looks like it's dying on me. I have'nt had to cut it back yet, as it hasn't gotten that large.
I also bought another new one from Nurseryland, late this past summer. It is a smaller clematis and boy was it blooming it's head off and continued for awhile too. I just noticed that there are some green leaves coming back on this one right now too.

I just don't understand all the different types, like A, B, C. I just try to keep them alive. lol

You might want to post this question on the Vines and Climbers forum also. Those people over there really know their stuff. I hope you get some help, as I would like to know also.

I've found that some like it here and some don't. The ones that have really performed for me are Proteus, Negritianka, and Etoile Rose (which mildews) but Etoile Violette or any of the other viticellas are supposed to do well in our warmer climate. Etoile Rose grows in full sun and deep shade. Negritianka I have on a south wall. I've tried a lot that haven't worked. But Durandii, although it took forever to take off is doing well. Here's a list of Chalk Hill nurserie's viticellas. I buy from Joy Creek too but they don't have so many photos.
