I had an early blooming Camellia japonica called 'Touchdown' to bloom this week. The bloom in this picture is over 5 inches across. I love this time of year when the Camellias are beginning to bloom in the South!
Camellia japonica 'Touchdown'
You lucky girl! How breath-taking. We lived briefly in Ft. Gordon, GA when I was a kid, is that anywhere near you? I do miss the later blooming season.
PrairieGirlZ5,
It is very nice to have another blooming season in the south with our camellias. I am not sure where Fort Gordon is located, but I don't think it is near Savannah. Wish you were able to grow them where you are located. Camellias are spectacular in the garden!
