Have ears to trade

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I have fresh dug rhisomes from Xanthosoma jeoquinii "Crested Elephant Ear" and Colocasia "Ruffles" that I would like to trade for Colocasia "Violet Stem" or "Red Stem."
The rhisomes are quarter size or larger, semi-dormant and can be stored for winter or planted now. I have 10 of each variety. I will trade one for one.

You have some nice EE's for trade. Really like the one in the picture. But sorry to say I don't have what you are looking for. But I know you will find what you want.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

I would love to trade with you but do not have what you're looking for.

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

I think I can trade w/ you.
Which Violet?

Ric

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Henry, just the plain Colocasia "Violet Stem," gets about 3 ft tall, sends out runners everywhere, easy to grow(except in TX, lol). Do you want Xanthosoma jeoquinii or Ruffles(or both)?
2pugdogs, do you have a little pup from that green leaf elephant ear you posted here http://davesgarden.com/forums/fp.php?pid=1851010

OMG!!!!!!! i want one of the crested EE i have a black runner EE i dont know if that is what youre looking for but plmk if it is

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Brenda, the one in the picture is Xanthosoma jeoquinii, the crested ear. I would love red or violet stem.
Ric, I have plenty of Ruffles, I can dig more. They don't make runners, but they make lots of pups! The violet stem like your picture is what I'm looking for(the cranberry is nice too)
Moretz, if you tell me how to keep the black runner alive, I'd love to trade!
I think I've answered everybody, lol. I got the D-mails too!

Kingston, GA(Zone 7b)

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Moretz, I think I had it in too much shade. I moved it to a sunny corner, but I think it was too dry(or Bleu stepped on it). I would love to try another.

hickory, NC(Zone 7a)

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I am printing out the address list with what you guys want and will try to get everything packed tonight. If I don't get them all in the mail tomorrow, I'll mail them Monday morning on the way to work.
I'm so excited! I've got the pots all fixed to put the new ears in.

Knoxville, TN

Susie, yell if you still need the violet stem after you get all your trades done. I still have the plant you gave me a few years back!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Mel, I'm glad I shared stuff with you, lol. How many times have I come begging since I've moved?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I mailed these today:
2Pugdogs
LindaSC
Henry10
Plantnutz
moretz
Dravencat
Countrybumpkin
When they arrive, you can either store them above freezing in dry peatmoss till spring, or plant them now. If you plant them now, you will need to keep them warm. They should grow a new leaf in 2-4 weeks. Remember, they're dormant, they take time to wake up.
PS, if you can't tell which end is up, just lay them on their side.

Edgewater, MD(Zone 7a)

Thanks Cala, Ill have yours out on Monday.

Calalily...I have some X. robustum I would happily trade if you have any of that love X to share still.....? In fact...I have lots!!!

Carol

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Carol, is X robustum a really huge ear??? I don't think I have it.
Which ears were you interested in? I still have a few of both Ruffles and Crested.

Edgewater, MD(Zone 7a)

Hey Carol, just a thought but could you add that EE to the PF? I have one I got from another DGer but I would think you have more info on it than I could ever give.

Sunset Beach, NC(Zone 8a)

Carol and Susie, I could use your suggestions.......I just put in a pool and I had lots of different palms planted and now I want to start adding. What type of EEs would do best in a good bit of sun here in Zone 8b? Also, are there any EEs that don't die back in winter? Which ones last longest and get tall? Thanks for your help.
Barbara
