OMG, it was the computer, honest! or it could be this cold spell that's coming has me all fuzzy headed, lol. I might have to turn the heat on, it's going to be cold(53*F) tonight. I'll have to wear long pants to work tomorrow and dig out my real shoes instead of sandals.
Smelling like a swamp lilly
Heck,I'd wear socks with the sandals!!!!!LOL
You might have to pull out the longjohns, tonite 53* and all!!LOL!
Brrrrrr.....now they're saying it won't get out of the 60's tomorrow!
LOL!
Poor Baby.........
Won't top 35 here.
Ric
It was warm till about midnight, then the wind and rain started. My power was off all night. It was 54 this morning with a north wind. Brrrrrrrrrrrr. I didn't even have a hot cup of coffee to warm me up.
Power goes off with a little rain???? LOL!
It was 18* when I left for work at 6am,now thats cold!!!!
My old bones never did warm up all day!!!!
I think it got to 45* when I left work at 4pm,but the sun was shining bright.
I wouldn't go to work with out my coffee!!!!!
They wouldn't like me either!!!LOL
It was the wind that was so cold. Straight out of the north.
I can't imagine 18* this time of year, now that's cold!
Yeah!
Cold spelled with a capital C!!!! LOL
And looks like you sent it MY way Don! Supposed to be 18* here tomorrow!! Gee thanks!!
LOL!!!
I don't mess with Mother Nature,or any females with that much power!!!LOL
Good news warm up directly following it,in a day or two!!!!
BRRR....we're getting a cold snap here today as well... only 71 high/59 low...
:)
MerryMary
Our high today is only going to be 71 also!
It was a balmy 56 here this morning........in the GH!
Less than half that outside :-)
Ric
71* Ain't life rough!!!!! LOL!
And I'll bet you had to wear socks today with your sandals!!!LOL
I did, I wore socks! I had to wear a sweater too.
Well you might not want to put it away just yet, another cold blast of air is heading down across the state tonite, not sure if it will go that far south yet,I know it stiffens these old bones, takes a while to get limber every morning, that and a pot of coffee!!!LOL
Tropic, Henry, and Marcy...I really feel your angst (as I'm sure Cala does as well) over your cold spell....and while we're in shorts on our decks, but of course with a sweatshirt on, we will feel your pain with you, as we water our plants and flip the burgers.... ;)
Actually, I'm a Buckeye myself, so will be going up for Christmas, to look at snow, deer, and cardinals.....uh, and then return to my deck in Florida!
MerryMary
MM,
Cala's only been down there a couple of years.
(Still a kid in a Tropical Flower Shop.)
Wait till she crows when she's in the 70's and you're in the 40's this Winter.
It was shirtsleeve weather today.
A balmy, calm and quite sunny 55.
Not bad considering it was 18 and snowy two mornings ago.
What part of Ohio you visiting?
Ric
I always wear pocked t shirt,no matter what the weather is,and same with grilling outside,or firing up the smoker,we know how to pretend where living down south,if nothing else give the neighbors something to talk about!!!LOL
Henry, I'll be in Dublin (outside of Columbus) for Christmas. During the summer, I'm in the Indian Hill area (outside of Cinci) quite often. I sneak plants home from Ohio, to see if they'll grow in Florida. Some simple plants, like hostas, aren't often available here or are double the price. And yet, believe it or not, I found my best tropical in Ohio, half price because the weather was getting cooler (Sept) Go figure,lol.....that's why I never stop looking...
:)
MerryMary
MerryMary give us a shout next Summer when you're up.
We are less than 20 minutes from Indian Hill.
When you crossed from KY to OH, Coney Island was below you.
We and tabasco (and formerly Badseed) are 5 minutes from there.
I can hook you up w/ some killer Hosta, Pulmonaria, etc.
NOW if you drive up we can REALLY do some trading! lol
Ric
Henry, I'm all for trading! I'm usually looking for varigated hosta, or very large hosta. Can bring some bananas or crinums. When I'm looking to take things home, I try and drive, to load up the van. Of course I've snuck a few things home in my suitcase on the plane, but am getting more nervous about doing that :) Someday I'll land in the hosta slammer!
:)
We have 50 named hosta and probably 30 crosses.
Everything from 'Komodo' Dragon down to 'Cookie Crumbs' .
I do bananas, aroids, palms and am loving this thread on Crinums (which I haven't tried) so I'm sure we can deal.
Ric
Henry...send me a d-mail with your mailing address, and I'll send you a crinum seed that is already sending a tap root.
Merry
