Why I am doing this today when everything, including me, look end of the season, bedraggled, wet and starting to decay, I have no clue. Mid summer would have been much better looking.
Welcome into my courtyard on this cold and rainy day!!
Kell, Your flowers looks so pretty. Cindy
it's still fabulous, kell!
(oh, and i did leave the computer, did some chores, and planted bulbs.) LOL
The truth is, I can't show you all of it, it is in fall disarray. I seem to get lazier and lazier as the season winds down.
I can show you the top view to the right of the walkway from the porch.
But most of it has to be off limits. Not only do the plants need grooming, but if you were to see how many I have stuffed in, you would not just suspect me of being nuts, but you would then know it for sure.
However, what a shock, it is not all PINK!! LOL
This is supposed to be a walkway into the courtyard but as you can see, you need to be very skinny to slip thru now and wear thick glasses to find it.
That is Susanne to the right, she has tons of new buds. The one to the left of the path is one of Monika's, full of pods. I am hoping for lots of doubles from that one.
Just beautiful!!!
i see PODS. they look like peppers. lol. is that an orange canna peeking?
i'm gathering my hibiscus plants and loading them inside my ford explorer. we're going to disneyland for my birthday and i'm dropping off everything tropical to my little brother's house in anaheim.
oh, kell, here's my haiku to go with your garden:
transformed by magic
a new palette of colors
nature’s tapestry
All of the courtyard is done in potted plants.
But as you walk in, there is a strip to the right that has an in the ground bed. The first row is of double dark rose impatiens, then 3 rows of pink then chartreuse, and behind that dark purple coleus. Above are 4 David Austin tree roses. And behind them are many kinds of pink varieties of abutilons for my hummer friends who love my courtyard. I have lots of crinum mixed in for added spikes of color throughout out the summer.
I would give you a wider peek of it but it has seen better days. LOL
And to finish, just because this is a brug forum I will add some brugs that are flowering. A lot I couldn't get near without getting wet so I just took pics of those near the main pathway.
This was my favorite brug of 2004. Pure Love, grown by Tracey and made by Susie. It gets golden hilights on the white. And it is a big one with a broad skirt.
Kell, you have inspired me to do something like your gated area this coming summer....I do have lots of plants grouped like you do but around my back gate I have nothing around it....thanks for showing a part of your piece of heaven...Judy
Well, tight shots are beautiful! I should know, I am in the same everything-in-pots-don't look-around mode. All my garden pics are like that too now. Scary how alike we are lately!
I have company coming for dinner Sat and I need to move and rearange things out there plus clean house. With today's weather, not much of that is happeneing, I am running out of steam. Haven't even had the urge to go nursery shopping this week because I am so overwhelmed with what I still need to do outside.
Ohh but the brug flushes are so gorgeous right now! That cheers me, hope they last until Sat so I can distract the guests from the rest!
Oh Sue, what time do you want me there for dinner?
OMG Kell. Your courtyard is fantastic - I could live there...
Brenda
Edited to spell my name (geesh)

kell everything looks wonderfull, I am so looking forward to having a double next year besides GL.
Oh and that Brug I have is BUTTERFLY I found the rest of the tag burried in the grass right where I dug her up.
Yes we have it although it can't take the sun at all I found, yours is beautiful!
Kell....your garden is enchanting!! So much wonderful color. I never really cared for the coleus but I'm having second thoughts about them now LOL Thanks for sharing your garden pictures :-)
Be still my heart!!!! That is such a riot of color; just beauitful. I could look at it all day. Thanks for letting us in.
Beautiful yard, Kell and beautiful pictures. At least yours look organized. Mine are pitiful especially now as I'm weeding out what needs to go in the greenhouse.

kell, that is truly, truly beautiful. I notice that phormium and I'm drooling BIG TIME. Would you say that is your best performer? which is that one? I remember you posted several but this was the one I remember best.
I still wonder about the fancy pink tree. how is it doing? do you have a pix of it?
Beautiful .... thank you for the tour.
Bedraggled....?
I don't see anything that fits that word in your beautiful garden! Like Kristi said. Thanks for letting us in!
Everything is just breath taking and I sure do like your coleus. I sure had fun with them this year and plan on plenty more for next year. They sure add color for those periods that the brugs don't! Thanks for sharing your piece of paradise.
Linda your Persian Shield is so big and beatiful. I wish mine would look like that!
THANK YOU everyone!! You are all so kind. As I was looking thru these pics again and I realized all my bright tropicals have stopped blooming. All my bougainvilleas and mandevillas. I guess it really is fall!
I am so limited in my space, I pack everything in. I have always wanted a meandering garden but not enough to leave California!
Oh good Doris! Mystery solved!!
Gee Sue, I thought I was family. I am crushed. Only a special DL will be feel better now. LOL Your brugs are looking so good too!!
Lisamr, I hadn't bought a coleus for many years then I discovered the sun coleus ones on here. I went nuts 3 years ago and each year they are easier to find. The colors are unbelievable. The only trouble I have, are the baby snails love them.
LOL Kristi, I look at your yard and am blue with envy!! You even have the blue pots I love. Your yard is what my dreams are made from.
Vossner, it is Maori Chief. There is also a Redheart next to it. The Guardsman is the best by far. Very red and stable. You mean my Sycamore Maple 'Eskimo Sunset', the hot pink one?? I hope it is fine. It she its leaves a few weeks ago. I guess it got tired. It has lots of green buds on it though that I guess will burst forth in spring. I need to get it in the ground. Or at least repotted. I was thinking of ordering another one from where Blaine got his. He got a huge one and it was so reasonable.
And Ada, you deserve a medal for being the biggest plant nuts I know!! You also go against nature and win!! All the work you do and the beautiful yard you have. Puts me to shame.
PS: Sometimes I think we cheat Linda, living here. LOL.
Yes, I have a Persian Shield. I love it!!! It came back from last year. I was so shocked when it shot back up this spring. Mine is not as pretty as yours though. What a deep purple yours is!! Mine is actually further inside the courtyard. I put it in an old white metal garden chair as the seat.
I love Sexy Lady and Pure Love. Every thing is group so pretty. Ladies, Thanks for sharing your pictures. Cindy
