WANTED: Lily seeds!

Zanesville, OH(Zone 6a)

Hi! I'm new to DG so please bear with me! My husband and I just bought a house that was empty for years. The landscaping has been a challenge! It was over run with poison ivy and grape vine (found an old rambling rose under that mess that still has some life in her...hoping to coax her to bloom next year!). I'm especially fond of oriental, trumpet, species lilies. This year I don't have anything to trade, but will send a SASE if anyone has extra lily seeds! Thank You...Denise

Welcome. Have you grown lilium seeds before? If not, go do some research. I can send you some.

Thank you for welcoming me! I haven't grown lilies from seed but have been reading about it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it usually takes a couple of years for blooms when you start from seed. That's okay. Maybe (probably...because I'll be eager to see the blooms!) in the spring I'll also get a few bulbs. I'm very new to gardening. I'm reading everything I come across. Any suggestions on reading material would be appreciated! Also, I'm very glad I found this site! It's a gold mine of info!!!

Inanda...I'm very interested if you have extra seeds! Thanks...Denise

Thank you to all who have offered lily seeds! I now have 5 different types of in my freezer awaiting spring :~) I think that should be enough for my first attempt at growing lilies from seeds. I've read several books, plus various info online on the subject. However, any insights you can give me from your experiences of growing lilies would be greatly appreciated! Thank you again...Denise
