I vaguely remember a reference to Celtis species producing allelopathic chemicals. Do they? Thanks,

Yes, I believe they are allelopathic however I don't recall what biomolecule Hackberry produces. Butternut and Black Walnut produce Juglans but I am relatively sure the compound produced by Hackberry is different.
