MG's for trade or postage

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

No problem, i hope to have more colors to trade soon :)

Do you have all these different ones in your garden?

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

I have every kind I could get ahold of in my garden, but the pinks here and becky's blues aren't mine, they were grown by friends who don't collect seeds, so they told me I could have as many as I wanted. I have so many... I'll probably never get them all collected, let alone given or traded or whatever away LOL

Have you ever tried moonvines? They have a lovely fragrance and just about glow in the dark. I can send you some seeds if you are interested. I posted a picture in Plant Files of mine, but had it identified wrong. Still the picture is there.

I have the white and lavender, my white just started making buds last week, and now it is time for frost :( I did manage to harvest all my lavender seeds, which do you have?

Janis

Fayetteville, NC(Zone 8a)

I have the white, I guess it's "Alba". I've never grown them before. Mine have been blooming for months on end. I keep thinking they will be done, but they just keep on keeping on. I didn't know they came in lavendar.

What do you grow all your vines on? I have shepherds' hooks for some, and trellis/big pot set- up for two more.

Whatever I can find LOL I have 2 trellises I bought on eBay, they are 8 foot tall, 2 feet wide, and I think 3 -4 feet across the middle. I have JMG's on one and purpureas on the other. I have 2 in small pots with circular trellises, but they didn't do well, some in hanging baskets, and 2 4 foot white fan shaped trellises I got at dollar General that each have one vine on them. Then there is "the dome" which is covering the top of our septic tank, we used dome shaped tent poles and chicken wire, and I planted a morning glory seedling about ever 4 inches around it. That is where most of my seeds are going to come from, it has just been a mass of blooms for a couple months now.

We also planted a sunflower house with 3 different kinds of sunflowers and heavenly blue morning glories, and the morning glories climbed the sunflowers. It was really pretty.

Here is the dome in August.

Wow! I'd love to see pics of your sunflower/MG combination.

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

I'll look and see if we got a good picture. I got the idea from a book called "Roots Chutes, Buckets and Boots". Its a book for gardening with kids. The kids helped me plant it tho not just my kids, but all the nieghborhood kids too, so it didn't turn out exactly as planned, but it was fun. :)

Going to try it again next year, and hopefully get it in the ground earlier. My sunflowers are all dead and the morning glories are still blooming away LOL

We used dwarf sunflowers, can't remember the names, velvet queen and mammoth ones. You can sort of see the back of a velvet queen in that picture.
Here is a close up of a velvet queen

That color combination would be incredible. What a good idea. When I was just doing veggies, I used to have my melons crawling up the corn stalks, but did not care about colors. ;^)

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

If it had worked the way it was supposed to it would have really been cool, it was still very pretty.

Got to run but will bbl

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Dearest Janis,

If you still have some Becky's Blues, I'll take them off your hands! Also anything else you have and don't want. I've never successfully grown anything from seed! so I have nothing to trade. In fact if you're worried about giving your seeds a good home, don't send 'em to me... I'll have the DSPCS on my back if I don't watch out. [Dave's Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Seeds] LOL

Do you need a SASBE or is a SASE enough? ($0.68)

xxxx Carrie

Gardiner, ME(Zone 5a)

Hi Carrie,
I will be in Milton next week .If you want some seeds I will bring you some to try out.
Anything special you are looking for ? I do have some other Morning glory seeds as well.

Brigitte

Woofens
I have 25 seeds of datura lilac le fleur. If thats not ok. I can do sasbe.
Thanks lily

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Oh, all of you are SO KIND, SO WELCOMING, I can't stand it! OK, woofens, my SASBE is in the mail, as soon as I find a BE, lol. I'll figure out a way. BTW, please don't send anything that needs to be cosseted inside [or in my WARM GREENHOUSE, lol] and then transferred to my cold frame to harden off (if I put a small picture frame in the fridge, is that enough?)! I'm thinking of painting my house green, then the whole thing will be a green house.

xxx Carrie

Dillonvale, OH(Zone 6a)

Lilyhostaky,
That sounds GREAT! I love datura's.

Carrie, send me a regular envelope with 49 cents postage inside, andI'll supply the BE, I have some here :)
