Still no change in color. You can definitely see Butterfly's influence. Pretty flower but when I look at it I think of anemia lol!

Her 6 pointed sister is the next picture. This flower is the same pale color in real life.

Vee, anemia is exactly what I said about mine, even Susanne, poor girl is Cinderella, before she met her fairy godmother, a wall flower without her color. I have tons of blooms and they smell like heaven and they are truly beautiful, if really pale pink is what you like, my yellows look better but even they appear to need some tonic - my whites are close to blooming, maybe that will help...yours are very beautiful and your photos and that blue sky are to die for!~!~!

Sherry my x candida pink tree is loaded with scrawny pale flowers. You could feed it till the cows come home and water it with a golden bucket and the flowers would still be blah at this time of year. lol

The October 28 sideview picture that I posted earlier is the closest to the real color that I can capture.
I love clear blue sky shots. They always make brug flowers look so much brighter and more colorful. Pinks can look red.
I like night shots too. They can make the flower color look even more different than what you see in normal daylight or in the blue sky shots.

This picture is what I imagine the summer color will be. The color of Ecuador Pink. If the color would only extend to the neck. Time will tell.

Last year with my original mother plant, I didn't like EP, but this year the 'baby' EP, who also wintered outside, now looks like a respectful brug, and pays her dues. All of my EP blooms are rather small - are yours?? From crosses I'm seeing, it seems that EP is a good plant to cross...

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

This was the first flower I saw on EP this past May. Length around 10.5". Flower mouth 3". That was one of the scrawniest EP flowers I have ever seen. Kind of cute. EP loves the cooler months here. My very young plant just got thru flowering and had 2 normal sized nice pink flowers.

Yes EP is a great one to cross with.

I must have mini EPs, the branches are small too, she is 'built' like Pink Favorite. I love PF, who has been blooming every day since June 23...I do agree, EP makes a great cross, surprising to me, since she is not crazy about it here, could be her location, I'll try to find a better place for her next season...

Personally I think the pale pink is kinda cool, not too many pale pinks out there. Will be interesting to see what it does in warmer weather, though.

I like the pale version too. If only it would extend to the neck. I'm keeping this baby no matter her color just cause she is a gutsy little survivor. :)

WOWZERS!!! Today I received the most precious package with a lovely cutting that is oh so healthy and in excellent condition - and, the nicest surprise, a beautiful, colorful, glass humming bird, attached with a lovely gold cord to her first Y. Gosh, Vee, thank you so very much, I appreciate your lovely cutting, and your thoughtfulness so very much!!!

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

You got your Tuffy!!!! Happy dance! I'm so glad she arrived safe and sound! :) ... v

You really went the extra mile, Vee - we love the hummer too, the grands want to keep her next to the butterflies in Tuffy's private bubbler. We LUV Tuffy and Hummy!!! She is such a beautifully cut, girl and every one of her cute baby leaves made the trip nicely...

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Aren't grands the best? They can find such wonder in everything!
Walmart sells boxes of the hummers. Christmas ornaments. 6 in a box. A tree covered with them would be beautiful.

I'm so glad hummer didn't get his little face smashed into Tuffy and cut her guts out. It would not have been a pretty sight for the little ones to see... ha!

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

OK, I've got to go check WalMart for hummers.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

I will get more hummers tomorrow, they are really cute and dress up my inside bubblers so nicely. Tuffy is one of those of those wonderful cuttings, that arrived with not one, but two Ys, which required a double wide bubbler, she seems very happy and not at all stressed by the trip, fall is wonderful for shipping cuttings. Thanks you again Vee.

Sherry an interesting note about Tuffy is that she flowers in little bunches along the entire length of the trunk and stems. It is kind of an odd trait about her. Even the wood that shows no branching flowers. They spring out from the tiny little branches that grow from the nodes.
