LOL.....we all have those days.... (some cause of too much lime;). Very, very healthy looking plant you've got there (and looks like you are about to start training it).

Hey Pam! Are you referring to ME?

Zarcanat, will it grow all bushy at the top?

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Would I do that??? ;)

zarcanat I WANT that greenhouse!!!

Montreal, QC(Zone 4b)

Hi Lily, if you saw the new ones we have at school you wouldn't want of this old one ;-) LOL!
Actually I started training them yesterday, some will be trained by hand and others with growth regulators (synthetic plant hormones). I am a little disapointed; I wanted them taller but I have only one month left to shape the head. They are in good condition overall, I only hope that leaves won't get yellow since they missed fertiliser while I was in spring break.

I am excited to see the final result! Oh, they are around 40cm now.

(Zone 7b)

Thanks for the useful info, zarcanat.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Trust me I'd take it. ;)

It looks just about right for height to me, but what would I know. Can't wait to see it full of blooms.

(Zone 7b)

I like the idea of following it through the process, eh?

Montreal, QC(Zone 4b)

2 weeks later, some details on the heads, the first one is made by hand.

The second one is made using growth regulators (chemical hormone).

In fact, is it more adequate to say drool?

Drool would be it for me. What a great project.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Looking simply marvelous! Ü Wiping off my keyboard now. ;)

Looking wonderful zarcanat......looking forward to seeing their first blooms now. :)

Montreal, QC(Zone 4b)

Should be around end or mid May.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

These are looking so healthy and happy. Well done! I am so envious of your greenhouse.

I remember the standard fuchsias at Stratford, Ontario. They were alternating with standard lantana and made a very striking visual impact.

Montreal, QC(Zone 4b)

They do not like lantana here as they are attracting almost every kind of little undesired critters LOL!
To many insecticides to use. I was lucky to be free of any pest during the growing of my fuchsias; crossing fingers...

Montreal, QC(Zone 4b)

I have sold all of them before taking any pictures of the blooms. I have two small standards left at home that are not bearing flowers at the moment... be patient, its worth the wait!

Montreal, QC(Zone 4b)

Just to make your wait more interesting...

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

LOLOLOL You have a VERY impressive collection zarcanat!!!! Ü I really hope you will be taking pictures of your collection this summer (and posting them . ;)

Montreal, QC(Zone 4b)

Should I ? : }

Of course you should. I would like it if you put them all in a section of your diary too, where they won't get lost, as they do when the thread gets old.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

We think so! :^)))

Montreal, QC(Zone 4b)

OK then. When I will have more time I will put it all in an accessible place where it won't get lost. By this time, every single one should be in flowers. I might have other surprises too!

Be patient!

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

Take as many pictures as you can!

The journal and diary features of DG are a little hard to understand at first, but once you start you use it you learn very fast. Well, I did.

For the journal, I suggest you start by entering each plant, then start adding history.

For the diary, record each day's activity.

You will learn how to use it.

Look at mine (click on my name to get to it). Not perfect, but a good way to record information.

Everybody finds a way that both features work best for their needs. It took me a couple of starts, but I have a record of most of my plants in one of my journals, and have a couple of others for my information about seed starting and orders. I like the diary too and use some tabs that I start in a different way. It is great for making a photo album, to show your plants. The dates can be ignored, or manipulated to make things in a certain order.

Montreal, QC(Zone 4b)

Boo ooo ooo! Just missed my bid on E-Bay, someone got the fuchsia seeds I was after ;-((
