Does anyone have a boxer or know about them?

This is a long story but I will try to make it short. While I was at the kennel checking on Porter (I guess everyone knows all about his story) a teenager was bringing in a boxer puppy that someone had abused. It's hip was broken. I am very very interested in adopting this boxer and having her leg fixed. I just wondered if anyone had a boxer or knew much about them. I have a full grown cat (male) and another female (mixed breed) dog . At present the cat and dog get along fine but I don't know what a boxer and a cat would do. The little dog has touched my heart and I think I will explode if I don't get her. I can't stand to think of her lying on that cold concrete floor at the shelter with a fractured hip. They have to hold her for seven days to see if anyone comes forward to claim her. I will go down in the morning and tell them I want her if no one claims her. Any advise (good or bad) would be appreciated. The puppy looked about six months old but no one really knows.
