I have merremia dissecta, which was gathered locally and also merremia dissecta, which was sent to me by Ron. I have both growing to see if there is a differance in the two. On the left is Roms merremia and on the right is the merremia which grows locally. They appear to be the same.
comparing merrimia dissecta
What do the flowers look like? The leaves are really pretty :)
Janis
Lisa - there seems to be some shape and color differences in the leaves and the pods on yours look larger...are these differences consistent(?!)...Can you post some nice clear photos of the flowers(including closeups) from the different vines for a good 'A' 'B' comparison...just a 'thought'...
P.S. the seedpods in that photo look like little tomatoes(!)...

I have some fairly decent pics of my merremia, which has bloomed more. I missed out on a couple of flowers that bloomed on your vine, but I am watching for more and will get some pics of both blooms up close. I will also take pics of the largest leafs on each plant for better comparison. The picture of the flower is my merremia, and the seedpods do remind me of tomatoes.
So,it seems that the strain that I provided is not quite as floriferous(?)...
Thus far, that has been true. Mine usually has multiple blooms on it at any given time, with multiple seed pods in different stages of ripening. Yours has put out two flowers of which I missed getting pics of and one seed pod. Still watching though.
I told you that strain was from Australia and is 'attuned' to the natural rhythums of Australia...
No doubt. Dont happen to have a koala or a "roo" hanging around that I could borrow to make her feel more at home, do you?
I bet a little wallaby or two crawling around in your trees would be downright hospitable of ya'...and add an eclectic flair at that...
I'll have to check in with my aborigine shaman friends and see if their teleportation services are still in gear...
Appreciate it.
Well, you cleared up a mystery I've been growing!
Last year I planted what I was told was a "yellow" woodrose. I have been growing in on our church entrance arbour. It blooms beautifully, like yours does (but not yellow, lol). This is hardy here in Atlanta, and has been easy to control. The leaf shape is unique compaired to most other vines grown here.
