I live near San Francisco. We do not get frost. I don't want to find and pull up all 100 tulips I planted in containers last year. I have an idea and wondered if anyone else has done this. I plan to buy block ice for each container, leave in the shade, and repeat this for 6 weeks.
Thanks

Sounds like a lot of work, but it is worth a chance. My sister lives in Berkeley and she was born up here and that is one thing she misses being able to do some of the spring flowering bulbs. You have other really great things down there that I just love like the princess flower and some of the solanums. I love visiting her and hope to this spring.
Do you ever get to Berkeley Hort? I make a special trip there each visit.
