Ada's Amber Rose x Butterfly today
She IS gorgeous!!! And those stamens protruding like that are just begging for a little dab of pollen! A striking photo, Laurrie.
Larrie
That is just gorgeous and will go on my wish list for sure,,,,,
I'm hooked ! LOl

Thanks everyone, I wasn't sure of pollinating because I potted up and brought inside, how or what would be best way to assure if I pollenated that it holds inside??? OH but I have some lovely pollen I would just love to throw in this one, but didn't because I was afraid they would all start dropping off, suggestions???
It looks great, Laurrie. Pollinate her. You can't always be sure it'll take or hold on but it sure worth the try. I want to be on the list for seeds. LOL.
Yours got so much darker than mine did .
Mine never really got a chance as the top was snapped off
during that horrible storm cell that rampaged thru my gardens .
Such a beautiful color! Congrats!
WOW, that's a beauty. Great color.
That is some color .... congrats!
I love the color, Laurrie. She is a nice one. Ada did good. The stigma does look ready to accept pollen. I'd give it a shot too, if you still have some great pollen.
I would love on this list. That is gorgeous. Great job.
I also say pollenate her. Even outside it may not stick.
worth a try.
What a beautiful red. It would be a shame if your red beauty did not produce seeds. The world needs a lot more of that burge. Joan
Go For It Laurie!!!
It has a beautiful color Laurrie! Congratulations to both of you Ada and Laurrie!
OK just got home from work and I will take your advice all of you! I am gonna pollinate every one of those blooms that are open, I think there are 8 or more open right now!!!!
Thank ADA everyone, she is the smart cookie here!!!! I just grew it and shared the pictures :)
It doesn't get any better than this shot :-)
I am shrieking with delight as I head off to go try my hand again with pollination, wish me luck!!!
Good luck, she is truly outstanding!
Congrats to you and Ada!
Ohio, did you mention fragrance, or did I just miss it?? She is beautiful, mine were destroyed by a horrid swarm of thrips, but not before I smelled her and she has the most wonderful fragrance ever!!! I hope she will bloom again before the freeze, in the meantime, I'm really enjoying yours - congrats to you and Ada!!!
Laurrie and Ada what a beautiful color!
Thanks, and yes there is a great high fragrance don't ask me what, but NICE.
I just love that last picture too. Just so beautiful. The shape is as good as the color. You guys did so great.
Just beautiful!!! Congrats!!!
Laurrie and Ada, that is a beauty. I love the color and shape.
Gorgeous
Thanks all. Laurrie did a great job of growing her. I wish mine would get that dark but with the cooler nights it won't darken up like that.. It's a great bloomer, smells great and isn't a bug magnet.
All desirable traits.
Clap, Clap, Clap!!! You did a great job of growing out this beauty! A+++!!!
Beautiful! Simply gorgeous color! Way to go Laurrie!

LOL Delisa, it was easy to pollinate, but already last night I think 3 of them fell off already, I think I hit 8 or 9 of them!! I am sure it's because i had dug it a few days ago to bring inside, stress from dragging the baby around! I haven't watered since I potted it outside, I watered it very well, let it drain, brought it inside, but did lop off all the extra leaves on her. I meant to hit it with my messenger but didnt' find it, I found mighty plant and did a foliar spray on what leaves were left LOL
WOW!! I LOVE that!! Gorgeous, Beautiful, Outstanding!! Bonnie
Awesome!!!!
That is super gorgeous Laurie, wonder if I would get the same color on it here in Lima.
Good luck with pollinating. Mine will take in the fall, then I have to bring inside and worry that seedpod will fall off. I have some that hold on, hope yours' will.
Good luck and please let us know what is happening to your beautiful bruge. Joan
Well after pollinating 9 blooms yesterday, I get up today to find alot more leaf drop as well as bloomies droppin off, I am down to 3 of the 9 blooms left hanging on :( Thats ok though, perhaps if they all drop now, they may revive and bloom again and I can try again. However I have learned my lesson, I think I will try to keep the ones I wish to try and cross in a POT!!! LOLOL then they won't have so much stress when it's time to drag inside.
Hibiscus, I bet since we are so close in temps the color might be the same for you???? I know it also depends upon soil as well. I am mostly clay here with little added in, I do however throw in a bunch of alfalfa cubes BEFORE setting the plant down in the hole, I found that it seems to boost their growth from the beginning.
I have lots of mine in pots, with potting soil/perlite/peat. I have used the alfalfa pellets and made tea to water with, thought I could see a huge difference in growth/blooms.
Oh no, Laurrie. Sorry so many fell off. maybe you'll get another chance soon after her transplant shock is over.
I hope so :(
It will be ok though, cuz I am growing this beauty lol
That is so beautiful!! It doesn't even look real in the last photo, the coloring is so beautiful it could be a painting. Great photography and flower care. Fingers crossed that the seeds will hold for you.
Betty
