Would that be leap summer 2009?
Summer can't be over
LOL.....would it make a difference?
Manitoba Frost report
No signs yet. Will spend this day potting up and bringing in;. !!!! Finally time for myself. The Winnipeg and Brandon sales are over. Only Dauphin to come. Oct. and no frost. Totally awesome.
And CBC sounds like being settled. Back to our garden shows.(radio) soon,, hopefully.
Maybe we could do a prairie moving gardenwork roundup - we all meet in Manatoba and do the members gardens there then we move to Sask - then to Alberta? LOL!
Seriously since I learned about round ups and saw that DG has quite a few active western members Ive been wondering about a roundup here next year?

Carol you are full of good ideas. As for a RU in Calgary, that might go over real well. If you are really offering, you will get some wanting to come for sure.
Do you have some really good nurseries in Calgary? Been a long long time since I was there. How about gardens. The Zoo?
Echoes I always have lots of good ideas. Carrying them out is another matter altogether! We have several good nurseries here. There are experimental gardens at the Zoo plus the old Reader Rock Garden , originally planted by the lst parks superintendant early in the 20th C. is being restored. Plus members of the Calgary Hort Society have some gorgeous gardens - they would surprise a lot of people who think we cant garden in Calgary!(The CHS is one of if not the largest in North America - have about 6000 members!) There is also a Master Gardener Program at the Zoo . And of course - how could I forget - there is the Calgary Stampede! I dont really know how one goes about organizing a roundup - some advice would be appreciated!

p.s. It has been snowing lightly here all day - not enough to stick but not very pleasant!
That's what I wanted to hear. I was aware of some features of the Zoo, but of course - the rock gardens. The stampede, well......I'm not a cowgirl type anymore, but that could be a draw for some. Pretty busy time in your town though.
I'm sure the 'girls' that organised the last RU could give you lots of advice as to what will work and what didn't. You also have subscriber agodin there in Calgary, just to mention.
Something to think about for sure.
