Amen to that!

When I was staying informed via a small battery operated radio there was a station in Beaumont running on a generator that was one of my few sources of info for Texas, East Tx soforth.

I was lucky! My power came on late tha 7th day.
Three days of intense heat & I got a power plant.

I have friends, actual, and of course cyber friends affected by hurricanes and there contributions.

Although Saint lives in a heavyly affected area, followed her exodus, Dallas and return to their current problems, she is a Red Cross Volunteer.

I made a comment; You want a friendly RC person, find a volunteer.

Family is 'Dear'
Hopefully it won't be long!

There was a heart breaking story locally.
A mother holding her 2 year old child lost tha baby as a tree came crashing through their roof.

In my case the Heat almost got me!

Know what you mean about the heat Charlie...the first three days almost made me toss in the towel and run for the hills! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

Saint

Thought I'd post a few of these. All of the pictures were taken about a week after the hurricane so major clean up had already taken place.

this is pretty much a good slice of what the entire town looks like. This isn't just a small section, the area covered is about 50 miles. We saw damage as far out as 18 miles outside of Winnie coming home on I-10

few more, this is my neighborhood. I'll have to take pictures of the house since the pictures we took on coming home are on camcorder for the insurance. Now you can see why I say we are lucky even if I did get damage at least my roof was still on..leaking but on *G*

This poor lady had begged the neighbor to cut the trees in their yard before the storm. Course they didn't and 5 trees ended up on her house. Broke all her rafters in the back, trees came down with such weight and force they BROKE the concrete slab. In this picture she had already had the trees removed so you can't see what it looked like but it wasn't pretty.
