"froggies_girl" needs help

Julie and her young family lost everything they had in the hurricane :(

She's a fairly new member, so hasn't been too active on the forums yet, but has done trading.

As her temporary HBuddy, I'd like to get the ball rolling on giving them back some of the things that they have lost.

I can't send beds or furniture, but their children need clothing, and shoes....not to mention trying to just put their lives back together with the common household things that every family needs.

As I think about clothing for fall and winter for my own family, it really puts things into perspective of what we "need" while there are so many who are literally starting from scratch. That's why the HBuddy system was put into place- to be able to personally help our fellow DG members out. We can't help everyone who was effected, but we can help one person at a time in our "family".

I just spoke with Julie,

What they really need the most is beds for their 2 little boys ages 5 and 7 who are currently sleeping on the floor :(

They could buy bunk beds from Walmart, along with much needed items. Bunk beds are a couple of hundred dollars....

If only 20 people would contribute $10 each that would pay for it.

She's not asking for anything for herself, she just wants the children to get back to some kind of "normal".

They have some clothing and a couple of toys that was donated to them, but we can only imagine how tough on the children it is.

If you would like to contribute, I'd be happy to take PayPal, and purchase one big card, or if you have clothing or toys, or anything else to help make their home again, I have an address to send things to.

Trish, I only have 3 $ in my paypal and it will take a few days for me to put some money over from my bankaccount. is there some way I can pay those dollars true paypal to your site?

Trish, I'd be glad to add some money to the pot for the beds. I'd also like to take my daughter to help find her daughter some clothes and mail them to her. My daughter is also 11 and it sounds like they like the same type of clothes. Let me know what to do and where to send anything. A Paypal transfer would be fine, but like Janett I have no money in my Paypal account so it would be a few days for it to go through.

Trish, I'd like to donate $l0.00 Iknow what it is to need beds. Mystep son and friend are up here from Hurricane katrina and they were given two beds /and 2 dressers by our church. They were absolutely thrilled. I have the money in my paypal account if you could dmail me your paypal address.

Counting what people have said that they will be sending me next week, we now have enough for the beds! $200.

I'm fairly sure that this price does not include mattresses, and I know that it does not include sheets and blankets and the like, plus her daughter is sleeping on the couch still.

I'd say that they now have the minimum.
