My first go at caladiums a success!

That was the wierd thing I had forgotten; the rotting happened during a long, hot, dry spell when I has having to water a lot. My soil is very sandy, so it was extra puzzling. When they flopped I first thought they were wilted.

Thanks for the tips Ric. I think I'll do just that with the callas I have left. The ones in containers had no problems, so I think that's how they're all gonna grow next year.

In most cases I tell people they are like potatoes. If you put a potatoe in a hot humid place it can possible rot or grow depending on how hot it is and how wet. The other case is cold and wet. You should store most tubers in a cold cellar type area cool temps a bit humid.
