Plant Files Q

When I was looking for Hardy Begonia I came across another posting not giveing a rating but rather asking for the plant. Is there a way to clean up the reviews so only those really reviewing the plant are kept rather then all the reviews like the ones asking for the plant or telling how nice it looks - in someone elses yard!

Hi Mitch. When you come across those send an error report. The comment section of PF's is not to ask for plants or information so we try to weed those out and refer them to the forums.

I see those asking for trades sometimes too, never thought to send an error report.

Darius send it on those as well. If it's on the picture thread from that entry then that is okay those are more for discussion but the comment section is for information and rating of the plant. We have to be careful here we don't like to edit anymore than necessary but in cases like mentioned above or bad language be sure and report them.

I moved this thread to the PlantFiles forum, in the hopes that others will see it and refrain from making off-topic comments AND will also help us by reporting those they find.

The only thing I'd add to Peggy's comment is that I am probably a little more ruthless about the PF pictures threads, too - it's not the place to ask for seeds or plants, or how-to-grow or where-to-buy, especially from non-subscribers. But when I remove those comments, I usually send a note explaining why, and invite the member to join our forums ;o)
