Hooray! Millie came out of her room

[There are no grisly details in this thread]

When Millie was a kitten, some kids locked her in a pool house and tortured her every day for a year and a half. One of the parents eventually discovered the cat and took her to the vet. Millie had to stay at the veterinary hospital for 6 months. Then she moved here, on New Year's Day 2004. She was terrified of my other cats and of me, but she was even more terrified of being alone. I kept her in my office for a while, but she bit me every time the phone rang, so I gave her a room of her own and installed a glass door so she wouldn't get lonely. Ever since then, she's been happy just watching the other cats through the glass.

Today I was feeding her and had to go back to the kitchen for something. I left the door open, and she was in the hall when I came back. This is the first time she's ever come out of the room, and I wanted to celebrate the occasion with all of my DG friends.
