I went for a last scroll in my brug garden...

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

because winter is knocking at my garden gate. My heart was bleeding, when I had to cut all the blooms off.

This beautiful B x candida was named after my Mom, which passed away in 2002.
I had high expectations. It had to be a very special hybrid and here she is:

Barcarole is out of the same cross as Luise, Rosenwalzer and Schneewalzer. The flowers seen on this picture were all triples. The length of the flower range from 13 - 16 inches without the flower stalk.
Terry and Brugie have received seeds out of this cross which have resulted in Terrys Meadow Rose, Meadow Princess, Pink Cloud and Fascination. Brugie has had one beautiful single Pink and a beautiful double White so far. Several seedlings have not bloomed yet. Hopefully Terry and Brugie are going to continue this successful line.

They're all beautiful, Monika. It seems like they're always blooming so pretty when we have to cut the back for winter.

Simply Beautiful Monika. Such a beautiful array of Brugmansia you are showing us. Your new double orange is stunning!
Yes like Ada has said they are now blooming so well and in a few more weeks they will be cut back. Winter will soon be upon us.

Hubbard, OR(Zone 8a)

beautiful monika. I love to see your plant photo's. They are very energizing!!

What an amazing show! They are all beautiful, so sad that another summer is passing and they will be put to sleep yet another winter.

You are really making new improvements in the brug family, they are getting better each year.

Thanks so much for sharing these beauties with us..

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

All just gorgeous, Monika. You do a remarkable job in such a short season. Where do you keep your large trees in the winter?

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

each and every one is stunning!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Linda, I keep them in the winterhouse. The bottom of it is to 1/3 bare soil. They are planted in to the soil.

We just got a load of snow! We never had snow that early!

(Linda) Winfield, KS(Zone 6a)

THANKS for sharing your beautiful brugs with us. You really have some amazing ones. I can only dream of brugs like that. Thanks again

Linda

Springfield, OH(Zone 5b)

Monika. They are beautiful. I keep thinking I can name a favorite until I look at the next one.

Do you dig them up and then replant in the winter house ground?

Snow??? I hope you were able to get your plants moved in time! How difficult to take off all those lovely flowers.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Your pictures are always beautiful. I'm sure each of us would love to have any of them. It would be very hard to pick a favorite from all you have pictured. I can't believe snow is there already. Gosh, it seems like just a few days ago when you were planting your brugs outside for your summer months. The time has flown by this year.

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

They are all so beautiful. It would be impossible to select a favorite. It's got to hurt to have to cut all those gorgeous blooms off. I can only dream.

Veronica

Lewiston, CA(Zone 7b)

My heart goes out to you Monika, It was nearly freezing here this morning.
I'm hoping that it holds off for a couple more weeks so I may see some new babaies bloom.
Your collection is stunning Keep up the good work!

Your garden & gorgeous Brug blooms are always at their very best! I'm sure it must be heart breaking to cut off the flowers! The Brug you named in memory of your dear Mother is not only very special, but exceptionally beautiful!

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

Monika, the dbl orange and the blutenzauber simply take my breath away. I just adore the long trunks on your brugs, prefer them to having multiple lower branches (though I most admit they look pretty good when in full bloom)

south of Grand Rapid, MI(Zone 5a)

Absolutely stunning. I want mine to be trees like your, but I have stalks in every direction. What did I do wrong??? DO I have to start over?

San Diego, CA(Zone 10a)

Absolutely stunning!!

(Mary) Poway, CA(Zone 10a)

I'm speechless! WOW!

Mary

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Monika, you have the most beautiful brugs. They take my breath away. Don't you want to take a trip to the U.S. with your pockets and suitcase loaded with seeds to meet all your brug friends? LOL

It's hard to believe that some of you are already getting such cold weather. It was 98 deg. here in San Antonio yesterday.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Monika I can understand how you feel having to cut such beatiful blooms off. I would just love to have them all but mainly the double orange, that is spectacular.

Doris

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Thank you for all your nice comments.
sarv48, I like the Trees. 22 of them are planted in a row like a Allee on both sides of the garden path. I root cuttings out of the growing region or use seedlings or bottom sprouts for this purpose.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

I guess there has to be a payback and it has to be snow on Sept 17 - untimely, but maybe early snow might be what makes your collection the most unique and spectacular in the entire world, hypnotizeingly beautiful, like a glimpse of heaven!! It is a supreme honor to have the opportunity to see your creations, each one more perfect than the past. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely brugs with us!!!!!

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Ahh, Monika, this is the stuff that dreams are made of.
Do you have a brug with "Heaven" in the name?
You should, I know that when my life here is finished, I would like to stay permanently in your alley, and I bet most others would too. lol
I cannot believe about the snow, already!!!
We have so much snow here in Buffalo each year, and I will be preparing for a frost soon, myself. The preparation and care is so much work, but we don't complain because I am learning that the rewards are worth it!
Snow? Hopefully not here until November ends. Then through late April.

You have so many odds to deal with that your successes are inspirational!

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Monika as usual they are all stunning and your garden is gorgeous.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Every one of your pictures are stunning Monika. It must be so hard to cut all those beautiful blooms off.
I will be doing the same tomorrow. So sad as they have more buds on them now than they had all summer.
It's the time of the year that frost can sneak up without any notice.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

What a awesome stroll it was. Thanks for taking us with you!! Absolutely gorgeous!!

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

Your plants are beautiful...and show us what brugs are suppose to look like. I only wish one day I will have one that looks like that, too..but I guess we all do.

Thank you so much for sharing.

Kris
(who is still fighting the temps hovering around 100 degrees and would LOVE to have some winter weather soon)

Monroe, WI(Zone 4b)

Monika, they are just gorgeous. And snow????? Yuck. Full moon tonight here, so am hoping the first frost here in wisconsin will hold off for about 3 weeks. Love your pinks and orange blooms.

Blenheim, New Zealand

It is the same throughout, we have snow on the hills again, after nothing for a while , the early spring is about to have frost, you cannot cover everything .all the new growth will have to try again.
lovelly brug Monika.
