My Daughter's search

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

My DD who looks like me and has a wierd sense of humor, (don't know where she got that from....), Did a search for Zanymuse to find my photo storage address she had lost. But she called today to say that the search engines keep sending her to some site where all they talk about is gardening! (DG) I think she was switched at birth...she thinks flowers are weeds and anything that lives outside is to be avoided at all costs! So my question is this...does anyone know where my real daughter ended up? And will DD's real parents please take her back now! :P

Circleville, OH(Zone 8b)

Hi Zanymuse,

You made me chuckle with your DD story, sorry I can't help
Mike

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

*gasp* I shudder to think that could happen to me..LOL! My dd so far loves to dig and plant, but she is only 3..Zany, I don't know where she could have gotten such a sense of humor, being you are so serious all the time...tee, hee! Lisa

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Zany do you sit up all night thinking of these things or does it come natural? No answer is required. Jim

Knoxville, TN

lol,you make me laugh,yes you have a normal kid,wait till she decides she like your flowers,ask you for some.And you
will get so exited, to think that she as become a flowerchildat last!! But zandymuse wait.take heed now!!!!do't give up any plants to child,they kill them!!My jody is so free spirited,but she comes around about every spring and I am telling you zandymuse,my flowers hid from this childthey call her (the wanna be raid Queen)I give her the plants and about 3 weeks later,she asks me the same question?????
Mom why are my plants dying and I give her the same answer
(THEY NEED WATER) .She brings them back to me.And I bring
them back to life again WITH WATER.She takes them back home and 3 weks later we start all over again.So Zandymuse be
thankful your child is still unaware of the beauty of a flower!!!!But when she does ask Zandymuse and she will.
say
NO!!!!!!

Is she 3 going on 30 I would say 13 but we all know thats not a good age:}Have a 22 yr old and a 2.667 yr old,I am sure the GASPING has just begun LISA . Still having fun @ 46

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Hi Zany - I can sure sympatize with you, I was told the "Planting Gene" doesn't kick in til age 30 but my DD is now 36 and she is the only person I know that can let a plant die of thirst right by her kitchen sink.

Surry, VA(Zone 7b)

Could this be the gardening gene theory? While we are little we love to help in the garden with our parents. When we have our first crushes we start picking the daisies to see if "he loves me, he loves me not". When we go to our prom, our date is expected to bring a corsage/flowers. When we fall in love, we start to plant the seed in our guy's mind that we love to receive flowers and continue fertilizing the thought. When the gardening gene actually kicks in, our other halves may share that gene (yippee!) or have another interest, but a gardening mom's smile of approval is just like a rainbow.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

LOL!! you're all so funny. My poor DD finally got the bug about 3 weeks ago, she said she never 'got it' before, even though she loves our yard. Trouble is her husband used to work for a landscaper, and his idea of a nice yard is one that looks like a doctors office (nothing wrong with that, I guess, but I like flowers and so does she). They made a deal when they bought the house, she would do the inside, he would do the outside. Then he has the nerve to ask for our nandinas and such, and let them die!!!!!! We had plants that had been babied and potted up for 2 years, and he killed them!!!!! argh!

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Carol17 I think you have the theory right.

Hampstead, NC(Zone 8a)

There is hope. When my changling was growing up, we managed a small farm. She hated flowers, the yard and picking beans and peas w/a passion. Guess who has grown up to grow better and bigger ANYTHING than her mom? Hang in.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your kind words of hope, but alas, I fear that this child who is so like me in so many other wonderful ways {insert Conciet}
Is undeniably hopeless! A few years ago she came to Northern California for the first time. Her reaction to the Wondrous and awe inspiring Redwood groves..."Who would want to live up here...you can't even see the sky for all these stupid trees!} So I beeseech each of you to keep your eyes open and help me find my true child....She will be 31 years old and love gardening...switched at birth by a an evil troll and replaced by another who though a wonderful person...could not possibly be mine!

Oh, and Jim....though no answer was required I offer you this....they don't call me Zanymuse for nothin!

Camilla, GA(Zone 8a)

Zany,
You described my daughter..LOL Suppose they were twins and we got the wrong one's? LOL

Well she did it today! I had her get some cuttings from her boss (I worked for him years ago) and I got them today...she must have left them in the car for a week in 110 degree heat before she finally shoved them into a paddrd envelope and mailed them. Needless to say they are useless! So I called her ad told her I now know what the problem is....SHE WAS ADOPTED! I just dreamed I had a girl child....She just laughed and said "OH Mommm!"

Milford, CT(Zone 6a)

Mom.....is that you??? LOL!

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Baby! Are you my lost child? :)

K 'HT you would trade a kid who actually cares that a plant grows for mine whi thinks that all plants should fe fertilized with round-up! Now that is FUNNY! :)

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

OK! My DD for your DS, but Josh gets to bring his plant collection with him! I have 2 acres he can plant them on! And my DD will come with her own round-up. But I caution you....ALL TRADES ARE FINAL>>>NO EXCHANGES OR REFUNDS! Please read the fine print before making your final decision.

small print..she does not read instructions and will spray anything green or flowering. She has a warped sense of humor and is eagerly looking for a new Mom! (I made her read this post}

LOL K 'HT! I had forgotten those wonderful teenage summers! But he could stay up till dawn here since we work late and never get to bed befor 5 a.m. But He will have to get used to getting up in th morning by 10:00 and napping in the late afternoon! The snoopy neighbor accross the highway watched us really close for the first couple of years here because of our lights being on at "odd" hours! She was just certain we were Drug pushers or something horrid. I think she still finds us very odd but gave up the late night binocular watch to catch up on her sleep.:}

It's a big shock to me to see my dd now gardening. She started big time last year and has continued this year. Her boyfriend lives on a family farm and they tilled up a piece for me to plant reblooming iris. I hope to be selling them out of there starting next year, but probably just a few. However, the year after........

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Oh, if I only had a daughter. All ugly boys. I do have one granddaughter. Got a couple of free hours for me to tell about her. Never does any thing wrong. Has her paw paw's love of flowers. She is only seven and every time I visit her or she visits me I have to cut flowers for her. Jim

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

That is wonderful Jim! I am tempted to go kidnap my grandbabies and bring them all here to start them young before their parents ruin them with the no garden atmosphere! Wish I could afford to retire and that way they could at least spend most of the summer here!

We can take down the ones in the den and plaster the walls with his! Oh, by the way does he cook? I know boys his age eat a lot but I am a lousy cook and we live a long way out from fast foods!
