WOW they look so much alike on here!!! Here in person the Akathukinoumi is much darker, and far more frillier around edges :( But anything is possible!!!

Here is Akatsuki no Tsuyu today in rain.............

and for you Ron looking at the differences in Aktasuki no Tsuyu and Blue Silk, I notice that the Tsuyu is much more frillier here but that is only diff.

here is Blue silk in rain..............not as frilly as the Tsuyu at least to my eyes.

quite stunning weren't they even in spite of the rain!! Perhaps tomorrow morning's rounds will provide better "camera" material.

Thanks everyone!

Seedsower, what did yours turn out to be? photo?

Hi Laurrie - The "ANT" does look to be more ruffled and a bit darker colored in the pictures you posted here...I have had very similar color variances in both the Blue Silk and "ANT",although the "ANT" may turn out to have a higher tendency to the ruffling...this aspect may be relative to the particular batch that the plants are from...The "ANT" in your picture seems to have the white a bit more circumscribed to the throat area and not expanfding out along into the folds...let's see if that aspect seems to have any consistent tendency...
The pictures look good even for being rain soaked(!)...nice shot's...looking forward to seeing some more...

Such a treat for the eyes!

Thanks Ron and Joseph, I will keep taking more photos for comparison, unfortunately todays shots were too nasty, that darn rain!!! LOL

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

Those are all gorgeous, Laurie! The rain drops seems to magnify the different colors more. I bought a few seeds from some on ebay the same as your Fujishibouri. They were kind of steep but I loved the color.
:) Donna

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

Donna, yes the rain added highlights to them :)
I hate to think what they will look like tomorrow, rain here now for 2 days and expect more tomorrow :(

some sure do go high on ebay, I did some selling last fall but I didn't have any of those last year for sale, I think the new ones or more rare sure do go high!!

Are yours growing well the Fujishibouri??? any photos??? I just love the colors on them myself

Laurrie

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

Nope, I just got the seeds this week. To late to plant them for this year...lol.
:) Donna

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

OH, sorry I thought you had gotten them earlier spring. well hope they do well for you next year!!!
Meanwhile, just drool over all them that are posting the pictures this year and it will remind you to be sure and plant them come spring :)

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

I'm constantly drooling over everyone elses pictures....you should know. I have enough drool here that I could cause a typhoon....lol.

Hi Laurrie....

I just found your question regarding what my Fujishibouri turned out to be. I'm getting several variations on the same vine, here is one of them.

Sandy

WOW Sandy, NOT fujishibouri, but a beauty none the less!! Love the star pattern inside, it sortof reminds me of one variation of Plum Frost (with star) that is growing for me :) see bloom in left of photo?

Gorgeous bloom, Sandy!
