Latest update regarding Roz.....

Babs(her daughter in Fl) wrote that they have not been able to contact them and are very worried. The last communication was right before the eye hit and Billy (her Dad) said he had never seen anything like it before. The roof from the shop in back of the house was gone by then, also the pool house and Roz's greenhouse. If any of us get any new info, she would like for me to pass it on to her.

All of those that were in the path of Katrina are in my prayers and I do pray that all of them are safe. I just watched the morning news this morning with a cup of coffee and before I knew it I was putting my coffee down and tears began to flow slowing down my face. This is devastating, so I can only imagine how they feel. I pray that they will receive food, water, clothes and somewhere to stay safe & dry from the toxic gases in the water and everything else the storm has brought. God love all of you.....

Blessings

Thank you so much for that report Nanny....I pray they are just unable to call because the electricity is out everywhere. *sigh*

I would appreciate anything that anyone finds out about information for any of those who were in Katrina's path will let us know...we are all concerned

It is overwhelming to imagine the devastation that so many are experiencing. On top of the devastation, to have no communication whatsoever, except for tv crews. They are talking about months before electricity is restored. Postoffices are closed along with grocery stores, gas stations etc. It is so disturbing to think of a city with nothing open or working for weeks. They are even being advised not to drink the city water anywhere because of contamination. I just don't know how thousands will be able to cope with such conditions.

rylaff is down there!! Anyone heard from her?? I know no less than 8 people who live (or lived) in the heart of this disaster. Only one that I have heard from (oh not counting my dear friend MollyMc who is fine and safe now!)!! Hope they are all ok and didn't lose any family members. FEEL for all the people who have had devastating losses of property and/or life in this disaster!! Wish I could help be we are barely getting by ourselves right now. Something like this happening to us would wipe us OUT!! We are paycheck to paycheck people. I have been laid off again!! Last time it took me 4 years to find the temp job I just lost!! Looking again!! Bonnie

The above is a link to SuperTalk Mississippi. We're listening to it on the radio but you can listen via the website. The conditions in Jackson are not good, but still so little is known about the conditions further south.

UPDATE: Regarding ROZ!!

I wanted to inform everyone that we heard from Roz's daughter early this morning. Contact was made with them, and they are OK. The house is ok, but there is damage everywhere around them.

Anyone heard anything about Ron Lessner the rest of Gloria's family?

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

I have tried numerous times to contact Ron but have not reached him so far. Phones are still out.

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

I'm so thankful that everyone so far is safe physically. Frannie it will be a sigh of relief to know that Ron is safe too. Thank you for your updates.
Donna, gosh girl it's been a tough year for you. You have my prayers and support for as long as it takes. Wish I didn't live so far away from you.
Mary, any way you look at it this was a heck of a way to get a new roof huh? I hope that will be the only damage done and your life can get back to normal as soon as possible.
Roz, all I can say is "hallelujah girl"! You're a tough little squirt!
Barbara I'm glad you and your family are safe!
