I hope MsJen gets out. I'm afraid for anyone who stays close to the Gulf. I just saw on the weather channel that the winds are up to 175 mph now.

I know me too Shirley, MSJen....listen to the evacuations honey!!!!! We're praying for all of you on the coast.

I'm afraid this one is going to be very damaging. :-(

I sent MSJen an email telling her she was welcome to come stay at our house. This was her response:

I can't leave judy, the traffic is so horrendous that i wouldn't get out even if i tried. gas stations are out of gas, traffic is bumper to bumper and in some places its at a standstill. i will try to post as soon as i can, but i'm not sure when thats going to be. just say a prayer for us

I guess all our friends in the path of the storm are either evacuated or riding it out, maybe without electricity. If anyone knows, I'd like to know the conditions, flooding, etc, in Waveland MS. TIA!!!

This is a terrible time for our friends in LA and MS. The safety of all concerns me. I will be so glad when it is over with. I have been through a couple bad hurricanes and it is frightening and the cleanup is horrendous but this is minor compared to any loss of life. I just want to hear that everyone is ok.

For those not checking other forums, there are some pretty good play by play, minute by minute posts on the weather forum.

We and all of my family, pets are safe and in Missouri. I have no idea what I will be going home to, be we are safe.

I am still very concerned about Roz. We have tried contacting her many times but to no avail and the last I heard they were staying in Gulfport. My daughter sent Roz's daughter who lives in Florida an email late yesterday afternoon and I am anxious to hear if she has gotten a response back yet.

I have not hear how bad Barbara's damage was in Hattisburg.
