We have 3 large dogs and a Yorkie and I have been looking for a small dog to be buddies with Lucy (and me!). Today we went to PetSmart to look at the rescues and one group had some puppy mill angels. They were all so pitiful, I wanted to take them all, but I saw this little guy and knew he had to come home with me. Here he is, can you believe he is a Shih Tzu?!? The poor little guy was so matted, they had to shave him practically bald, they had named him 'Matt' it was so bad. Apparently, his fur was so matted he couldn't go potty very well and he has a bad little rash, but it is healing now. He is about 2 years old they thought. They said that someone had abandoned him and his 'mate' in this terrible condition. She was there also and you could tell she had recently been nursing pups.
We are waiting for him to tell us what his name should be, he doesn't know the name 'Matt' and I'm sure he didn't have a name before. In fact, and this really breaks my heart, he has a number tatooed in his ear. Well, here he is!
