I know just watching the news has me pretty fretful for everyone.

We had heard from MaryinLA (she also lives in Mandeville, LA) and she said she went to MS with family/pets and she is safe but still no word from Norwood and many many others I am sure are trying to get in touch!

Just reading this thread - - any word from "Norwood"? Bad enough to lose your house, all your belongings, etc...etc....but to lose such a beautiful collection of epies too??? I pray not.
The Moon Light Sonada is stunning - they ALL are.

BetsyJ - I just today heard from him about 3:30!!!! he called, he and family are fine, he is home without phone or power (borrowed a cell phone to call me now that the cell towers are back up) he expects to be without power for quite some time he said. I was just soo thankful he came thru ok, his property is a little worse for the wear he says BUT NO TREES THRU THE HOUSE OR GREENHOUSE LOL so that is a good sign. He said most things look like he took a week eater to them, but they are starting to come back out of the mess - alot of cleanup to do but he is OK as is the Epies in his greenhouse he said :-)

He called me 2 times now since the hurricane, yesterday around 3:30 and was sending me something I told him he was a loon, he should be worried about his house and yard/garden repairs! He also said his epies are looking good despite the heat down there.

I'm just getting caught up on some threads because I was away from the forum for a little while. These pictures are fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing them, and please thank Norwood for sharing them as well. I'm sure going to be looking at them again and again through the winter to help with the winter blues.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

Winter blues in Zone 10???

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Sure, when you grow mostly Zone 11 plants:-) It rains a lot here in the winter and gets cold too (relatively speaking, of course) so most of my plants don't do anything but sulk all winter, and I sulk right along with them.

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

LOL... so you push the zone! Want some snow when I get it?

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Sure, don't we all? LOL! Nah, we get snow on the mountains here in the winter, and I can admire it from afar:-)

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

LOL reading your posts - we have some cold temps this week, but expect them to jump back up for awhile, got all my babies inside that matter already :)

I will email Norwood and tell him again his pictures are a hit, he just got a new camera so maybe I can get some more things to share on here!!

OMG and what beauties he has!!!

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

Now why didn't I see this thread before?! lol!

Wow...these are all fabuous, and great photos too.
But......**they're torturing me!**

Im especially fond of 'Norwood' and 'Crazy for You'.

I'm also very relieved to read that he and his family pulled through the wrath of the hurricane.

I had a similar experience with a 'Brugmansia Mentor' a few years back. I wasn't at all familiar with them, and she insisted that I have some and sent me several. I tried to repay her with offers of other plants, but she was just happy to share.
Bless our mentor's hearts!

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

I know, he sent me some pretties, I am keeping them alive and have some new growth finally :)

His home survived quite well, he finally got a new camera and sent photos of the home, looks good, just a ton of downed trees!

Mentors are the best arent' they!!!

Dundee, OH(Zone 5b)

Just adding here that the one above finally has it's name attached (Lilac Time) I had forgotten to ask him, but did so this morning and had an immediate reply to it's name, Enjoy!!!
