I am going to start this thread off with a hybrid named: Norwood, Norwood is a dear friend of mine who had this named for him I believe back in 1984 by a man in CA by the name of George French (this man is now 90 years old), and Norwood has gotten alot of starts from him just in this past year, Mr. French had hybridized some 500 variety in his lifetime, I will show on this forum some of the ones Norwood has graciously allowed me to post to share, get your drool buckets on as they say.................
Norwood
Oh, what beautiful epi's !! I recognize some of the names -what a lifetime of devotion to the plant can do!! Amazing the number of hybrids he developed.
Stunning Epi"s OhioBreezy, Thanks for sharing your picture.

Yes, and this is only a drop in the bucket!!!!! I have some of these myself, but had asked Norwood if I could share his gorgeous photos on here, and I got my reply today when I got home from work, so I wasted no time in posting, such a wonderful person, I am so happy to share these with you all. I only grew the normal small white flowered one up until Norwood started sending me cuttings.......

Are these your plants and photos, or just what Norwood has? I like them all, but esp. the very first one.
How do we get cuttngs?
LOL, ok I am growing quite a few of these myself, got the cuttings from Norwood this year. HE is growing them all (in these photos), he had gotten I think If memory serves me correct something like 100 different cuttings from Mr. French this past spring, remember Mr. French had 500 hybrids but Norwood couldn't get that many home lol, George wanted him to take cuttings from all 500 of them!!!!! Norwood is in LA and George is in CA!!! Sooooooooooo, NO these are not photos of my plants, but Norwoods, and yes the one named Norwood is delightful.
I think Norwood may in the future share his cuttings with others, but right now I only have my starter plants, perhaps next spring? will have to check and let you know!!!!

Thanks, I got permission before from Norwood to add these here and to the database, now tonight with all the rain I couldn't go outside, so decided to start adding to database :)
I am soooo worried right now, he lives in Mandeville, LA, he has evacuated due to Katrina, still haven't heard from him and praying all is well with his family where ever they fled to!! He was just in the process of getting ready to send me more as well as photos :( I hope katrina doesn't destroy his whole collection!!!
Oh dear, I'll keep my fingers crossed that everything is well for his collection and prayers for his family and everyone else who has been evacuated.
The south has been hit really bad by the storm and aftermath of flooding. I hope Norwood and family are safe.
