Louisville, KY(Zone 6a)

well we take the seed every year and start them in the spring sp we just let them die every year

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL Okay. I misunderstood somewhere and thought you were starting seeds now and I was trying to figure out why.

Louisville, KY(Zone 6a)

well im starting them now because i want them big by spring but you can start them in the spring and the will get big by the fall i jjust wanna a jump on them

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

So you will winter them inside?
Mine right now are about 12' tall. I love my castors! I have never started them other than in spring. My largest so far, I stopped measuring at about 15'. They used to have a contest for the largest here on DG. I guess no one did one this year.

I can vouch for the 12' Castors.
We spent a few minutes over at Badseed's Jungle today.
(Well OK 200 minutes or so! lol)

They towered over the pond.
Here's the bottom of a couple, as I was shooting the Canna I didn't get the whole plant.
Look upper right and you can see the seed pods formed and forming.

Hmmm, I have been looking for a crop to help pay for my new little farm.... Okay, who would pay me to grow a couple acres of castor beans? HA!

Hey Ric, look what I did for 3 hours after you left, until I ran out of dirt! LOL I just took this pic this morning. I can't believe how foggy it is.

LOL I am headed up to HD for some Promix, then going to get back to it. My next issue is going to be big pots. I am down 6 of the 15 gallon ones, still have ears in the ground, two more bananas and all those ears in that new rear back bed plus the brugs that are busting out the smaller pots. Hmmm.... Wonder how much those rope handle buckets are at the dollar store. ;)

Thanks for potting my some cyperus! Don't forget to come back for your hyacinths!
