Seed packet said double violet flowers. trimmed in white. Blooms are beautiful but not double. Has anyone had these produce single blooms?

The ones I planted are single blooms and they were supposed to be double.

ahelms...The single are pretty, but i was expecting the ones in the picture. Did you get some that are split like they were trying to be doubles? I thought I would save seed from these split ones and see what they would produce next year.

I purchased doubles, which I did get. Planted 6 of the seeds and 5 vines produced doubles, and one produced singles exactly like your photo.

Yours are pretty still not like the seed packet though. Maybe as the year goes on they will get it rigtht lol. If you get a pretty double please post.

Picabo. some of my blooms looks like those that EmmaGrace posted. I haven't noticed any split. I'll have to look more carefully

I planted those also from seed. They were real slow to get going, in fact I thought they would end up being a bush morning glory. They are just starting to send out long thingies...doubt if I will get a bloom before the frost comes.- drat

This is one of the flowers with the "splits" in the petals. Probably 1 in 10 is doing this. Different? yes...Pretty? I don't know...

picabo - Many people like the flowers that split like that...and a flower rthat splits that is from a double strain may become somewhat of a novelty item...save the seeds and see what you get next season...
