Unusual Creamsickle observations

Harlem, GA(Zone 8a)

Well, I have 2 blooms on my Creamsickle...this is her 3rd flush....she's not giving me but 2 per flush lol...that could be because she is still young yet...1st year for her.

Now I've been looking in the Plantfiles database and I've not noticed this odd behavior on a Creamsickle. I may be crazy but this Creamsickle is acting more crazy than I ever did LOL...One has a button under her outter skirt....

It will be interesting to see what becomes of her tomorrow night. As you can see she still has her cream color....it's the first night she's open.

Then the other one blooming tonight...it dropped this evening as the other did but it's got an under skirt that's shredded...eh?

This will also be interesting to see what develops in the next couple of days...if it doesnt melt that is...

Got skirts fit for a can-can dancer! Who's that all dangling peachy in the lower left of #4?

Julie,
This is my Creamsickle's first year, too. I noticed that when some of the inner skirts didn't drop they looked like your first photo. My Creamsickle produced only 1 or 2 flowers at a time during June and most of July. It seemed to be in bloom all the time, but just 1 or 2. I couldn't be sure if the inner skirt would drop. It produced it's first real flush early this month. All the inner skirts dropped down, but a few of them were shredded.

I'm a newbie so I can't tell you the reason for it. Only that it happened to my Creamsickle too. The only thing I can think of is the weather. We had no rain in June and most of July so the heat was constant. We got some rain starting the latter part of July giving us a break from the heat if only for a few hours at a time.

This is my Creamsickle as it looked at the beginning of the month.

lol Sherry, I don't think she'll stay this way in the next flush, I think I have to lean towards this being another fault of the weather :-( She's turning the color she's supposed to be...hinting of a little apricot color. I LOVE white one's too!!! I wish it would stay that color lol

Blaine, LOL.... "skirts fit for a can-can dancer" you come up with more stuff! You make me giggle at your posts LOL...Ya know, last year it was peachy orange but alittle bigger. It was tagged Dr. Suess but I know it's not cos' the leaves aren't serrated. I believe she's Versi Peach or Charles Grimaldi. I probably need to repot her so she will perform better. Her and CS needs it badly. The weather has sure played it toll on my plants. These are the only two that have really bloomed recently. DonnaB's Monster white is fixing to have a huge flush...just waiting. But for the rest...It's aweful this year :0(

WoW BettyDee that's interesting isn't it how there doing this? Almost looks like GL. But I am glad this isn't just mine that did that. I hope to see my CS looking like YOURS when she grows UP! lol Beeeeeeeee-U-Tee-FULLLLLLLLLL Flush on that baby!

P.S. I don't get them the fertilizer as I should during the day due to babysitting. But the weather has been so hot I can't get her out there with me, it's too hot and humid. They'll be ok, at least they aren't dead lol. I think as the days get cooler they'll all start performing better. They did last year around September -November :-)
