Surprise Morning Glory

I have a Morning Glory growing up the awning cord at my front window. The ones I planted did not make it, but this one did and I didn't plant it. Here is a picture from inside. The vine is about 2 inches from the rolled up part of the awning.

Sometimes the self planted do better than the carefullly tended ones we plant. Nature is such a wonder. Has it flowered yet?

And another.

Looks like a little birdy ate and then "deposited" a 'Milky way' morning glory for you...

Yes, this is blooming very nicely. I just haven't gotten outside early enough to take a good picture. I planted these in another spot last year, so they might just be stray seeds. The top of the vine started going along the rolled up part of the awning. I can't get a decent enough photo. So I pointed it in the other direction. Maybe it will start down the awning support. Here is a photo of the flowers this morning.

And they're very pretty. Must try some of the bi-colour.

Cool, surprises are always delightful. Your photo from inside reminded me I have virginia creeper growing under the door in my unfinished basement. Shows how well the door is sealed. It's about 3 feet in the door now, just a bit yellow from the weak light it gets from the window. I am letting it grow, just for fun ;)
