You're right. They are all the same variety, just different color flowers.

Ahhhhh....... well, anyway, I really like it!

Hi all.... I did get a seed pod this year from mine, and even though some other members said it probably won't come true from the seed, I'm going to try it anyway! I don't remember the name of mine, had it for years.... I think I will look for some other varieties this year, having seen all these wonderful pics!

WOW Beautiful . I have never seen them before. How big do they get ? Do they grow in hot humid weather ? Thanks, Allison

Allison, I think that it depends on the variety. I have one that's 6 foot tall. Others that only grow 1-2 foot tall. Another that is a trailer type in a hanging basket.

I have a question about these... I found them a few years ago in a garden center (not big box). I bought them and they grew, and blossomed, but not tall, through the summer. They died at the first freeze.

My question is: can I pot one like a houseplant and it will be happy and live for me like that? I thought htey had to go outside...

Enlighten me, please. I appreciate it!

Yes, they are houseplants as well. Some varieties are called Parlor Maples. I've ordered two of them from Logee's and they'll be inside most of the year.

I bring mine in to and as long as it gets some light they will still bloom for me during the winter.
:) Donna
