Strange moonvine?? I don't get it.

Hi guys,

I'm starting to doubt my sanity. This is my first experience with moonvine and I am now officially confused. The leaves are changing shape. I just noticed the new leaves this morning, and it is definetly coming from the same vine. What's going on?
This first pic is the way they have been, and some still are, which seems normal to me.

Now, this is where it gets strange. I'm sure someone has an explanation that will no doubt make me feel like an idiot, but that's okay. : ) I still gotta know......

I've grown morning glories and have had the same thing happen...trilobed leaves mixed in with heart shaped leaves, on the same vine...

It is just one of those things...nothing to worry about.

Some plants do more than spawn a different leaf here and there...
they spawn "sports" which are different plants that sort of mutate off of the original...they can even be different colors!

My coral salvia "sported" a really pretty branch that bloomed a buttercream color. I thought it had seeded itself and the seed came up a different color, but it was actually attatched to the coral bush! And even near the top, so there was no doubt about it...

Many roses "sport" a new rose...many times it is a climing version of a bush rose. Other times it can be a different color.

You will have several different shapes before it's over. This is normal..lol

Wow, that's really weird. One more question. How about this bud? Does it look like a normal moonvine bud? The reason I'm asking is because a few weeks back I posted a question asking about the leaves having purple veins. I can see purple in these buds. Did I plant the right seeds? They are supposed to be the white ones, but isn't there a purplish variety? Just wondering, and anxiously waiting for the blooms. Thanks guys...

lol...don't worry...that is how they look. The bloom will be white.
That is a normal moonflower bud you've got there...strange looking, aren't they?
