Searching for plants we have submitted in PF in My Info

Would it be possible to have a search feature when we open up 'My Info', and then the plants we have submitted to PF?

I find myself wanting to go back and add more details a bit later as I confirm it, before it shows up in a search. It seems like it takes a long while for a PF search to bring up newly submitted plants. I can't figure out how to find them easily without going through the whole list. I don't know how people that have submitted lots do it.

It should be a fairly short wait for new plants, especially within the advanced searching.

However, if it's not easy to find them, you can work around it in one of three ways:

1) The Browse by Cultivar is definitely updated pretty quickly - try looking for your plant there, especially if it's a big genus (Hems, Iris, etc.)

2) Find a related plant (same species, or at least the same genus.) Click on the species (or genus) name within the entry where it's hyperlinked in blue.

That will pull up the entire list of all plants that cross-reference the same species or genus, sorted alphabetically by cultivar. (You can re-sort it by any of the fields at the top of your search results.

3) If your list of submissions is reasonably short, go to your member page and look through your PlantFiles entries from there. (I don't use this one, but my list o'plants is pretty long ;o)

It's your number 3 that I'm trying to do. My list isn't very long right now, but it's getting longer all the time.

I'll try to bring up a plant in advanced search shortly after I submit the next one and see if it works. Maybe the system was just very slow the day I was trying to find one. When I posted this, I had tried looking up a plant about a half hour after I submitted it, to add a detail, but it didn't come up that way. So I was trying to search through my Plantfiles entries on my member page and found that it wasn't very easy to find it that way either.

It would a great help, if the list of submissions came up in reverse chronological order. The last submitted being the first to come up. Right now if I look at my member page the first ones up are some I submitted years ago. Just no way to find a submission in that maze.

I submitted Tall Bearded Iris 'Airbrushed' over an hour ago, and I still can't bring it up in a PF search, no matter what search information I put in, or don't put in.

I can go to my home page and go through my plantfiles entries and find it and bring it up that way, but it takes awhile. Hence the reason for my request for the ability to search it. Or as Farmerdill suggested, making the most recent submissions first on the list.

This isn't a big problem, but a little annoying when you are on a roll and want to go back to a recent submission and add something.

Definitely a good idea - but it's one that Dave will need to consider for implementation. (He doesn't trust me with the "magic wand" - for good reason! I'd have the system in a mess very quickly ;o)
