Needed...Salinas / Monterey area native shrub list...anyone?

Modesto, CA(Zone 8b)

Hi fellow Californians. I'm looking for a good list for native shrubs, or shrubs that would look nice naturalized in a rural area of Salinas. Does anyone have a list? I've been Googling but it's very slow going. Thanks for any help you may have!

The Sierra Azul people would probably be able to help you.

Here's a list of native plant sources for Santa Cruz County (which, in the inland areas, is similar to Salinas). It's from California Native Plant LINK EXCHANGE

Hope this helps!

Karen, don't forget Yerba Buena Nursery availability list. Always interesting.

Thanks Doss!
That IS a great list, awesome for reference (a copy of it will appear in the "plant types" binder I keep next to my drafting table for reference). Sierra Azul was a wonderful place for me to take my friends to show them the plants I wanted to use for their plan. The nursery's demo garden mounds allowed me to show them what the "grown in" plants look like and we made a list for their design. They even allowed me to pick some seeds off an incredible tree just to see if I could germinate them. How nice is that? We will be going back there, nice, nice people! Great collection of plants too.

Pretty nice! But they are in very good company. :-)

Yes. The whole nursery was worth the drive from Prunedale to Watsonville (not too far really). I would like to go back myself, and I'm not even "into" natives! :~D
