Can someone tell me how one would know when the berries upon the Fiddlewood tree are mature? At some point the berries can be picked and planted and the seeds will germinate to produce a new tree. I just don't know what to look for to recognize when the seeds are mature?? Right now they appear the color of green olives with a slight reddish tinged blush.
Another question? The birds like them immensely and I doubt seriously if they will allow them to stay on the tree long enough to mature. Is there some way to protect a selected cluster of berries from the birds so that the berries can remain long enough to mature?
