Really great talking to you today!! Count me in!
mel
Cool! It was really nice talking to you as well. I'll add you on to part 1!!!! Will both of you be coming, I hope so!
Annie
**BUMP**
Hi Annie,
I just got back from Bob's (Los Altos) a couple hours ago -- can you believe I've been there since the last time we spoke? Whew, I'm exhausted. Anyways, I just wanted to let you know it will just be me coming (Kent's working...curse of a musician, always working on weekends).
Best,
Melanie
p.s. the deer denuded three of my sunflowers while I was gone...arrgh...including a five footer that was only a little over a month old! It's war I tell you! They have a nice treat of Irish Spring soap awaiting them tonight, sitting right on the leaves if they try it again. Hah!
mel
LOL!!!! Never heard that one before!
Annie
Does it work? :~)
k
I guess we will need to wait for a report on Irish Spring. I have heard that one before, as well as getting the hair clippings from a barber ship and stuffing in an old nylon. I have a feeling that the battle with the deer is about as futile as the battle with snails.
I'd never heard of putting the soap on the leaves but I know people hang bars of it in their gardens. It was after dark and I couldn't think of anything else to deter them. The deer didn't eat any more leaves last night, but that may have just been chance, lol. I don't have time or energy to make five foot tall cages so it's going to have to do. Well, and there's the rosemary nearby, not to mention the coyote urine. AND the sunflower is supposed to be deer resistant by the time it reaches about 4', due to it's hairiness...but, as we all know, if they are hungry enough...what's one to do. If it weren't for those portables I wouldn't give a...
If others are battling deer, I'll tell ya, the best website I've found so far is this one -- very level-headed information, a balanced approach:

I just realized I've gotten this thread off topic. Back to the Round-Up!!
mel
And it sure has been one heck of a year with the snails for sure!!!!!! Grrrrr.....
Annie
My favorite (by name at least) is Not tonight, dear http://www.nottonight.com/
2 great sites!! I laughed out loud on nottonight! Funny,
Annie
Hey Folks, could you please update me on the number of folk coming per each name on part #1 of N. Cal. RU, I need to have a better idea for food, etc,
Thanks,
Annie
Hi Annie.... I was a "maybe" last month, but it looks like I won't make it. I've been traveling too much this summer, another trip and my DH would divorce me.... hey, not a bad idea! (Just kidding....) The other RU in the works in the Redding/Turtle Bay area is much closer for me - I hope to make that one! Zuzu, if I were to be able to commit to this one, I'd stop and get you, but I have to bow out. Hope everyone has a great time!
Sanna
Thanks for letting me know, apreciate it,
Annie
Thanks for the thought, Sanna. Do I dare recommend a divorce? I've enjoyed mine so very much.
I have a client who stated
I married poorly, but I divorced very well.
I had my chart done back in the late 60s, and the astrologer said I was fated to "marry in haste and repent at leisure."
LOL!!!!!!
I will be on vacation next week, so will not be available, will return on the 29th, hope a lot more chatting to go on while I'm out having fun!!!
Annie
*BUMP*
Have a super time!!
best to all,

A great time was had by all!!!! Check out part one!
Annie
