She posted on a thread where you can't see it. I thought a new thread might help her get your attention.
Here's her post:
Good Morning -
My name is Melissa Larriviere, and I am a member of Dave's Garden. I am most often on the Texas Gardening sight, tho' I don't really garden - or on the Farm Life sight - as I am a very new farmer/rancher. Gary (my soul mate) and I moved to Monaville, Texas last summer. He had been working in the middle east for 11 years, and I was living in NY. Anyway. . .
I have been reading this thread and thought perhaps I could get some help from the horse people. I adopted a 12 year (?) arabian/draft horse cross about 3 months ago. Pal had been neglected and was skin and bones. Literally, the life had gone out of his eyes. A neighbor rescued him and then I took him in. Well, he has really filled out and is a bit more spunkier.
I have bathed him, brushed him, and my blue heeler, Boo, has aggravated him. Pal seems OK with it. I think he is shy or not able to really defend himself. I really don't know. He wears a halter and can be led around. Doesn't like to change pastures at all.
Oh, and he is a "cribber." Is that the correct word for a horse that chews on the gate. He has no upper teeth. I tried a leather device on him, and he did quit chewing, but he always looked like he was in pain. So I took it off.
OK, where do I go now?
Thanks for your help.
Melissa
